The Broken Crown, alternatively known as the Circle of Memory, was a circular archipelago of islands that lay in the equatorial Encircling Sea of the planet Mure. The Broken Crown's islands constituted the highest extremities of a caldera belonging to a submerged extinct supervolcano. As such, the outline of the island chain appeared nearly circular from above, giving rise to its name.

The Broken Crown was the location of the planet Mure's most ancient and historically significant structures and monoliths, including the Kwa Star Temple known as the Meseren and the Rakata Temple of Inexorable Victory. Additionally, the Stone Gods, a sprawling set of ophidian grotesques carved from black stone, were found on one of the islands of the Crown, indicating a possible Celestial presence on the planet following its construction.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Broken Crown archipelago was named in reference to the Mumford and Sons song of the same name that appeared on the Babel record. The idea for a circular volcanic island chain was inspired by the Circle of Visions from Fate of the Jedi: Ascension.
