The Brethren were a band of pirates led by the Mandalorian warrior Naast Beroya which operated throughout the Mandalore sector for most of the Imperial Era.

History[]

Following his exile from the Mandalorian Protectors, Naast Beroya found himself alone and highly wanted by the Galactic Empire. Using the connections he made in his past as a Separatist general, he managed to raise a band of pirates, mostly former Separatist soldiers and Mandalorian warriors, with which he led in a string of raids on Imperial convoys and space stations across the Mandalore sector. They became involved with the Mandalorian resistance, helping Bo-Katan Kryze fight the sector's Imperial occupation.

During the Galactic Civil War, they smuggled stolen munitions to the Rebel Alliance for a profit, though earned an ill reputation for their habit of double-crossing their Rebel clients. After the end of the war, Naast took the Brethren to Concord Dawn, where he established a powerbase on the shattered planet as a warlord.

Strength[]

The Brethren operated from a heavily-armed Interceptor-class frigate that had a Kom'rk-class fighter docked on its underside used to deploy pirates onto the surface of planets or aboard enemy starships. The group initially consisted of less than two dozen individuals, all of which were Mandalorian warriors and former Separatist mercenaries; they also made use of a handful of surplus droidekas which proved effective when fighting their way through the narrow halls of a boarded starship. After settling on Concord Dawn, the Brethren bolstered their numbers with several hundred more warriors and mercenaries who followed Naast into battle with rival Mandalorian warlords and Imperial holdouts on the planet and its moons.
