Boryn Thalsyk was a male Human politician in the Galactic Republic during the New Sith Wars. As a young man he served in the Republic Navy, but resigned his commission after his initial term of service in order to enter civilian government service. After years of work in Commenor's legislature as a staff and legislative aide, he transferred to the private sector, working for a consulting firm. He eventually joined multiple corporate boards of directors and amassed a small personal fortune. He was eventually appointed Governor of Commenor.
After the assassination of Supreme Chancellor Phnyong in 1,386 BBY, Thalsyk requested Jedi bodyguards, but was denied. He used his personal fortune to hire Echani Firedancers instead. As he had expected, he was targeted for assassination by the Brotherhood of Shadows; his mercenaries fought the Anzat assassin, but they were interrupted by Darth Vandak, who killed most of Thalsyk's Echani bodyguards. Vandak killed the Brotherhood assassin too, but defenestrated Boryn to his death.
