The Bormea sector, also called the Ringali sector because of the Ringali Shell nebula within its borders, was a large sector located in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. The sector was previously divided into the Bormea and Darpa sectors—the Darpa sector containing worlds such as Ralltiir, Rhinnal, and Esseles—until the Treaty of Esseles which unified them into the Bormea sector.
The sector was home to a large number of separatist sentiments during the reign of the Galactic Empire, and several worlds in the sector were bombarded as a result. Chandrila, the traditional capital planet of the sector, became the first capital of the New Republic.
