Blackdot was a planet in the Oricho sector.
History[]
The world was first discovered in 978 BBY but it remained unnamed. Smugglers and other fringers began using the planet and it received the codename "blackdot." The codename made its way onto the Galactic Registry, making it the official name of the world in 937 BBY. A shadowport was constructed on the planet in 920 BBY and it was called Greiza. Ox was born in Greiza in 803 BBY. The port was abandoned in 546 BBY. New Greiza was established on the site of the old port in 477 BBY, after the pirate Antogarst Nemblaist and his followers were exiled to the planet by the Jedi Sosomas Sneom.
In 375 BBY, a Fiskerite colony ship arrived on Blackdot from Dzorra. The purpose of the colony was to simply reestablish the Fiskerite worlds as partakers of colonialism as Blackdot itself had little in the way of natural resources. It remained a part of the Republic during the Clone Wars and was untouched by battle although Argun Obroggva assassinated a Republic officer named Ulth TelRyu while he was visiting his family on Blackdot. Officially part of the Empire, it was never occupied by any Imperial forces until 11 ABY, although the Blackdot Armed Forces were created in 19 BBY by the Imperial governor Mortiveer Tarosced and were officially a division of the Imperial Army.
