Black Eight was a callsign of a pilot in the Imperial Navy and was eventually assigned to the Death Star when he was part of Black Squad. Most of his squad were killed during the Battle of Yavin.

Black Eight was an Imperial male pilot born on an Unnamed Volcanic planet. He joined the Caridian Academy and trained as a scout trooper, but was transferred and made a pilot. After many months of training, he was put into Black Eight Squadron, being the eighth cadet to join, and the last one. He and the other pilots were trained by an elite ace.
He was stationed on the Death Star and was one of the survivors of the battle.
