Beta-class Advanced Recon Commando were the second generation of Advanced Recon Commandos that succeeded the Alpha-class. Nearly all of the Beta-class ARC troopers were selected from veterans of the Battle of Geonosis. Whereas most Alpha-class and Null-class commandos operated as infiltrators and saboteurs, commandos of the Beta-class typically fought alongside standard clone trooper units as scouts and engineers. At least 8,000 Beta-class ARC troopers saw combat in the war, a majority of which belonging to reconnaissance units within the Tenth Sector Army.

Equipment[]

The armor worn by Beta-class ARC troopers varied significantly, as most units were equipped with armor similar to that of clone scout troopers, while others wielded paratrooper armor and even Katarn-class commando armor. Some Beta-class ARC troopers were known to wield standard Phase II clone trooper armor with no distinction from regular units. ARC troopers of this class were often equipped with DC-15S blaster carbines and DC-11 blaster rifles.

History[]

The first Beta-class commando program was commissioned in the final year of the war, with the first units seeing combat throughout the Outer Rim Sieges. Many Beta-class ARC troopers also fought in the Mandalore campaign and the Battle of Kashyyyk.
