Bedo was an Ortolan male who served as chef and communications officer on the Renegade. He was known for his love for food and obsession with historical facts.
History[]
When Bedo was young, his grandfather would tell him stories about the ancient Jedi and Sith, as well as beings known as the Whills. This influenced Bedo's love for history, particularly his interest in the Sith Wars.
Like most Ortolans, Bedo had an obsession for food. This made him an ideal chef and he worked at many a restaurant not just on Orto but elsewhere in the Sluis sector. On Denab, he worked at a distinguished restaurant specializing in Core World cuisine and made quite a name for himself locally. When the owner of the restaurant decided to retire, they handed the business to Bedo, leaving it all in the Ortolan's pudgy hands.
The problem was, Bedo did not know the first thing about running a restaurant. In short time, he began to fall under debt, leading him to call upon the help of famed chef and entrepreneur Enivri Trebor. While the muscular Vurk was renown for turning restaurants around, his advice and renovations did Bedo little good and the restaurant closed down after four months. Left with little money in his pockets, Bedo did not have the funds to return to Orto and was forced to stay on Denab for the next two years.
In 36 ABY, Denab was attacked by the Glorian Empire. While the invaders were successfully pushed back by Alliance forces based in the Sluis sector, Bedo's hometown was left worse for wear and he was deprived of shelter. Not longer after the Battle of Denab, the planet was visited by the freighter Renegade, which was providing aid to worlds affected by the Glorian invasion. Managing to get in touch with the Mirialan captain, Bedo convinced Kyla Kishanti to let him join her crew after demonstrating his cooking abilities.
