The Battle over Sluis Van was the last battle that the New Republic would not be involved in. It was also the first time that the Death Watch had lost major troops in a battle. It was most remembered for the destruction of Entrench Station, which killed over 50,000 civilians in its crash to the surface.

History[]

Reason[]

Known for it's shipyards, Sluis Van was the perfect location to secretly test and design an experimental hyperdrive, capable of making successful blind jumps into hyperspace. Overlord Theta, knowing the learning of the device and its possibilities, ordered his troops to Sluis Van.

Failure after failure[]

First failure[]

The Remnant send their regards, traitor.
—Theta, talking to Echon[src]

Theta arrived on Entrench Station, a space station orbiting the planet, as the battle began on the surface. He made his way to the cantina inside the station, and met Echon Tarkin, the man who had prevented him from capturing a Miraluka on Cerea 12 years before. Theta ordered his men to kill Echon, leaving to avoid any accidental crossfire. However, the execution failed as Silas Skirata, a Mandalorian, attacked the assassins. This failure would become the start of many for Theta.

Losing the control room[]

Silas and Echon would team up with Cloak and Dagger of the Wolf Star Coalition in order to help take back control of the space station. They first helped the security force by defeating the Death Watch operatives holding the control room. Without the control room, the Theta was unable to prevent an S.O.S. from being sent to the New Republic.

Losing the station[]

After losing the control room, the Death Watch would be slowly pushed out of the station. This quickly lowered the moral of the troops until they quickly retreated.

Imperial help[]

Just as it seemed like the Death Watch would retreat, the Imperial Remnant came to the aid of the Death Watch and quickly brought down the defenses of the station. They quickly tried to control the station, but the combined effort of Echon, Silas, Cloak and Dagger alongside the security force, the Remnant was pushed back as well. Pallaeon quickly sent a message requesting back up.

The Shadowstar[]

Out of nowhere, a strange ship, known to Imperial forces as the Shadowstar, appeared out of hyperspace, bombarded the space station, then made another jump into hyperspace. The station quickly began a descent towards the surface of Sluis Van.

Devastation[]

Entrench Station crashed onto the surface of the planet, destroying multiple cities, and eradicating a large amount of the planet's population.
