The Battle of Quadia was an attack on Quadia in 149 ABY by the forces of the Reawakened. A concentrated force of battleships laid siege to the system and landed a force of Skavik warriors. Though the invasion was repulsed by the Golden Empire and the Dark Jedi Tirj was killed, the Reawakened succeeded in their true objective: obtaining a sample of the Sickness.
The battle[]
A Dark Jedi fleet emerged from hyperspace, led by Ador Hentral and his onetime apprentice Voara Culee. Quadia's planetary shields protected it from initial bombardment while the planet called for help. Breek Zagrev and the Romasi Sector Fleet answered the distress call, but the Dark Jedi fleet punched a hole in Quadia's shield before they arrived. The single Royal Army cohort on the planet was falling back and suffering heavy casualties when the Romasi Sector Fleet arrived.
Hentral's presence—and his Battle Meditation—made the battle more difficult than it might have been, but Breek's command ability and sheer numerical superiority battered the Dark Jedi fleet nonetheless. Close to a million Skavik had poured down the well, led by Culee and including the Dark Jedi Tirj, Charg, and Vev Nar. The Reawakened also deployed dozens of Vyrak clones. Breek retaliated by dropping over a hundred thousand of her own soldiers onto the planet, and sent nearly half of her fleet's Centurions as well.
Quadia's very small population concentrated its settlements in one major city and a few suburbs, and the Royal Army dropships were able to gun down thousands of Skavik on the fly as they tried to make the city. Culee's strike team reached the city and raided the Ministry of Health facility there, killing the scientists inside and stealing a sample of the Sickness. Culee, Vev Nar, and Charg began a retreat as the Centurions and the Army neared the city, but left Tirj to cover their escape. When Axelia Solios encountered the Vyrak clones, Breek deployed Anzat hounds into the city. Axelia, Luna Raquelsei, and Selish Anteran also dueled and killed Tirj.
Losses on Hentral's side interfered with his ability to Battle Meditate, leading to further destruction of ships on his side. When Culee and her team achieved the flagship, Hentral ordered the retreat with his prize. The well-trained Royal Army cohorts on the surface systematically drove out the Skavik invaders from the city; when the enemy fleet fled into hyperspace, Breek ordered the planetary shield lowered and bombarded the Skavik army still in the field with turbolasers, killing thousands with each blast.
The consequences[]
Due to hardened underground shelters previously installed by the Empire, few Qua were killed by the Dark Jedi force, although its assigned Royal Army cohort was decimated. The Empire initially considered it a victory, particularly given the death of Tirj and the repeated success of the Anzat hounds, but Desha Marad was able to adapt the Sickness to make it airborne. Qua Centurion Te`net Organi and part-Qua Novice Rayne Turgachia both contracted this particularly virulent strain of the disease, and both survived only due to the ministrations of Tillandra Moraes.
