The Battle of Endor was fought at the beginning of the Great Galactic Civil War. The Missionaries to Endor had colonized the forest planet and Zargayus Xerime was afraid that the Jedi would use the planet as a way to control the Mid Rim. The Jedi and Ewoks fought against the Royalists and defeated them in a heated battle that cost many lives.
