In 3,730 BBY, the Confederate Systems of the Unknown Regions invaded the USUR planet Bakura causing the Battle of Bakura.
Though in the Outer Rim rather than the Unknown Regions, Bakura was still apart of the United Systems of the Unknown Regions.
It was the most populated planet in the USUR. The large population and tactical location was the reason the CS decided to take it.

The CSUR, coming off the glorious victory at Lehon, decided on taking more planets belonging to their rival. Though they decided on conquering ten more planets, one other, besides Bakura and Rakata Prime, would be taken.
The battles[]
Realizing more troops were stationed on Bakura, and even more stationed after the battle at Lehon, the Confederates put together an invasion force of 100,000 troops and 25,000 droids up against the US army of 80,000 troops and 10,000 security droids. The invasion force was very large at the time but during the war that followed, it would be indeed very small.
The Confederates landed on Bakura wihtout much opposition in space. The USUR didn't want to risk many ships and soldiers in space knowing that the Confederate navy is one of the best, if not the best, in the galaxy. Once on the ground, Confederate forces quickly over ran the capital city, Salis D'aar. The urban warfare was tough and something both sides needed to get used to. The USUR leaders wanted to reduce civilian casualties, which were at 27,000 already, and lured the enemy across the West River to some open plains. The battle was finished there with a Confederate victory. The planet was quickly evacuated briefly before the battle ended.
