Avlin Evwed was a Wookiee who was trained as a Jedi then later became a bounty hunter.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Avlin grew up on the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk. His father was known for being a very successful fisherman, and his mother was seen as an extremely good cook. One day, however, a Jedi came to Kashyyyk, and found that young Avlin had a very high midi-chlorian count. He took the young Wookiee back to Coruscant, where he was trained in the Jedi arts.
Jedi training[]
Avlin studied Djem So, or "The Way of the Krayt Dragon." He wielded a bronze lightsaber, and was an expert at using it. He was apprenticed to the Jedi that had found him on Kashyyyk, Jedi Master Veilen Djoko, who was also an expert a Djem So. They were appointed to go on missions to many planets. Both Avlin and his master were very long-lived, so by the time Avlin could apply for the rank of Jedi Knight, the Clone Wars were in full swing. Avlin and Veilen were asked to go on separate missions just before the time of Order 66. Both asked to go without clone trooper assistance, so both were spared from the massacre.
From Jedi to bounty hunter[]
Veilen went to Ryloth, where he met his former apprentice, Bendi Skylarkeir, who killed him in a duel. Avlin was assigned to Kamino to find the base of operations for the crime syndicate, Jackpot. Not long after landing on a small island, he received the transmission from Coruscant to stay where he was. Realizing that the Republic had fallen, he quickly decided to gain an alter ego as a bounty hunter. He soon found the base of Jackpot, won the approval of Ozzel Brinx, and became his new apprentice. Ozzel urged him to make use of a blaster whenever possible, but Avlin preferred his lightsaber. He served as a body guard for Ozzel during his missions, and would sometimes accompany smaller members on important missions to make sure that his new master wasn't double crossed. Ozzel was very proud of him and at meetings with friendly crime lords, he would show him off like a trophy. One time, one of the other crime group's lieutenants got so annoyed by this that he aimed his blaster pistol at Ozzel. Avlin sliced off the barrel of the weapon, severed the man's arm, then Force pushed him out the window into the raging ocean below. Ozzel was so impressed that he promoted him from a body guard to head adviser to the crime lord.

One time, Ozzel asked Avlin to escort some illegal spices to Tatooine.
