A focused mind is a focused kind.
—Avin Dimordo to his student, Koran Cas-Evon in 22 BBY

Avin Dimordo was a male Zabrak Jedi and Resistance General, whose contributions to the Order were unmatched. Avin was one of the few Jedi to survive the Great Jedi Purge. It was rumored that Avin had the most padawans and students of any Jedi ever. He is also one of the longest-living Zabraks in the history of the galaxy, dying at age 239.

Biography[]

Avin Dimordo was born in 187 BBY on Iridonia to Navome and Xagra Dimordo. His parents were both Jedi, and his lineage went as far back to the Old Republic. Xagra sensed a Force presence in their son almost immediately.

Early life[]

Xagra first began training Avin to be a Jedi at age five, giving him his first lightsaber. His first lightsaber came to be blue. He and his father trained through his childhood until age twelve, where he first was admitted into the Jedi Order as a Padawan to Jedi Master Vretan Pekraka, a Twi'lek male.

Dimordo and Pekraka trained on Coruscant for a very long time. Coruscant had become Avin's home. Avin's first mission was in 152 BBY. Dimordo and his master Pekraka were tasked with surveying a shipping freighter while it traveled through the brimstones of Sullust. Sullustian terrorists revolted against the owners of the freighter and destroyed it, taking Pekraka's life

Career[]

After the encounter, Avin was ranked up to a Jedi Knight and began studying on how to teach the Force. He lead several classes of younglings. Avin continued on until 22 BBY, when the Clone Wars began. He and his padawan Koran Cas-Evon fought in the Battles of Christophsis and Geonosis until the Great Jedi Purge in 19 BBY

Avin and Koran sought refuge on Vardos until 3 BBY. After the end of the Jedi Order, Avin and Koran joined the up-and-coming Galactic Rebellion. The two Jedi learned how to fly A-Wing and X-Wing starfighters in a short amount of time, due to their skills with the Force.

Avin fought during the Battle of Yavin in one of the Rebellion's secondary fleets. He assisted in destroying the Death Star I by gunning down turrets close to the surface of the base. Avin was hailed as a Hero to the Rebellion and received a seal-of-approval from Princess Leia Organa in 1 ABY.

Avin fought again against the Empire during the Rebellion's attempt to destroy the Death Star II. This time, Avin flew alongside the likes of Wedge Antilles and Bren Quersey. He provided one of the killing blows to the DSII and was once again hailed a hero for the Rebellion.

In 18 ABY, Avin Dimordo met a New Jedi padawan by the name of Jag Greyhelm on Tatooine. Avin saw much potential inside of the boy, so he decided to further his training by giving him a new lightsaber and more knowledge. In 21 ABY, Avin met Karik Bane, one of Salvatore's new apprentices and trained him as well. Finally, he met Mazion Tyl on Endor. Mazion was a bright Force prodigy who's power was raw and untapped.

In 29 ABY, tragedy struck when Mazion was seduced to the Dark Side by his sister and betrayed their small group of Jedi. Mazion killed Karik Bane and severely injured Avin and Salvatore. Salvatore disappeared shortly after and Avin went back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to live out the rest of his life.

Salvatore resurfaced as Killian Blackstar, or KB, a terrorist who devoted his time to finding ways to end the First Order's Covert Squadron Commander named Blackstar (who was actually Mazion Tyl). After KB and Blackstar fought it out and reconciled, Blackstar resigned from the First Order and lived life as a Reformed Jedi until his death in 107 ABY. Jag died in a terrorist attack in Jedha during one of his explorations in 64 ABY.

Death[]

Avin Dimordo died in 52 ABY due to old age. He was 239. His spirit and Force presence transferred directly into the form of a Force ghost, and his body was buried inside of the Sha'melayah Temple on Iridonia. In the end, Avin had three children: Tevraa, Tapa, and Maso with his wife, Vova Sudae Dimordo who he married just after the Clone Wars.

Post-mortem[]

Avin's legacy lived on with his children. Tevraa and Maso, his two sons, grew up to be proud members of the New Jedi Order and lived by his father's philosophy. His daughter, Tapa, married a wealthy slave trader who lived on Ryloth and oversaw her husband's business.

Avin was known for his sarcastic and sly personality around friends and lovers. He was one for jokes, but got serious when he needed to.

Behind the scenes[]

Avin Dimordo was first conceptualized by Zach Halteman while playing on the popular online MMO platform ROBLOX inside of a Star Wars roleplaying game. His race was always a Zabrak and since the start, Avin was a powerful Force user. The character evolved from there, being featured in Halteman's Star Wars fanfiction book series, The Legend of the Stars. The story and series was first a rough draft on Microsoft Word 2015 and adapted onto the online writing platform, Inkitt. The series currently has two completed entries, one in the writing stage, and one in the conceptual stage, along with a spin-off in the writing stage and three sequels of that spin-off in the conceptual stage.
