Avexiss Redonna Odé, known as Vexi to her friends, was a female Sith Pureblood who served the Jedi Order as a Jedi Shadow during the Cold War, Galactic War, the war against the Eternal Empire and the Third Galactic War. Unlike most Jedi, Avexiss joined the Order in her mid-teens due to the intuition of Jedi Master Batauww, who took her on as his student in 2 ATC.
Due to her obvious lack of training in what would have been her Initiate years, Batauww pushed Avexiss incredibly hard, using the pride and temper that had got her expelled from school and brought her to the attention of the Jedi Order to shape her into a lethal warrior. His militant teaching methods drew concern from other Jedi, but ultimately proved useful when the pair traveled to Dantooine to assist a village in the mountains.
When Master Batauww's resolve was overwhelmed and his mind temporarily shattered by a dark side entity, Avexiss' will was strong enough to resist the mental assault, allowing her to ascend to the summit and confront the source of the darkness, although it was only by achieving a state of oneness with the Force that she survived the otherwise inescapable encounter.
Avexiss and her master returned to Tython; the latter having his connection to the Force severed at his own request, and the former secretly hosting the small, fractured piece of the entity that had survived the confrontation. She was later presumed dead on Ziost when the planet was destroyed and was posthumously awarded the rank of Jedi Master.
Though the Jedi disbanded when the Eternal Empire conquered the galaxy, Avexiss still fought against the invaders wherever she could until the Alliance finally defeated them. After that, she returned to her work as a Jedi Shadow, although due to the fractured nature of the Jedi Order she acted as her own authority, answering only to the will of the Force.
Decades later in 57 ATC, Avexiss volunteered to lead a strike team after her sister Lizzett Odé – head of a large and merciless group of raiders – mutilated fellow Jedi Saria Minstyngar. During a battle above a small colony world, Avexiss boarded the Republic frigate Uphrades, confronted her sibling and ultimately killed her.
Three years later in 60 ATC, Avexiss was betrayed and mortally wounded by her long-time ally Torem Vhenn on the distant world of Merot, causing the dark side entity bound to her to escape to Torem's body. Unable to regenerate without the entity, Avexiss died almost instantly and was later buried on nearby Farrow.
