The Avenger was a Star Destroyer in the service of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. In 2 BBY, the Avenger was commanded by Darth Vader and Kane Starkiller, the Commander of the Guardians of Lettow, as it pursued the Tantive IV towards Alderaan. This marked the beginning of the Battle of Alderaan.[1]
