Aurra Sing, also known as Nashtah, was a female Palliduvan bounty hunter who specialized in tracking down Jedi.

Biography[]

Early life and Jedi training[]

Aurra Sing was born on Nar Shaddaa to a woman named Aunuanna and a Palliduvan father.[1][2] She was also a descendant of the Sith Lord XoXaan.[3] After two years of suffering in the streets of Nar Shaddaa, Sing was found by Jedi Master An'ya Kuro—better known as the Dark Woman—and was brought into the Jedi Order. Growing up at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Sing had a difficult relationship with her master and her peers, the latter whom dubbed her "Nashtah" for her headstrong and deadly nature.[4]

While training on Ord Namurt, nine-year-old Sing was lured into a trap set up by Sennex pirates, whom convinced Sing that her master had sold her to them. Kuro, meanwhile, thought Sing had left of her own accord to get away from her arduous training. Joining the pirate crew, Sing was eventually sold to Wallanooga the Hutt and found herself on Nar Shaddaa once again. After four years of serving Wallanooga and training with the Anzati, Sing killed the Hutt and the Sennex pirates out of revenge before starting her career as a bounty hunter and assassin.[4][4]

Jedi hunter[]

In 36 BBY, Sing collected a bounty on Torgo Tahn, the Anzat who had trained her.[5] In 32 BBY, Aurra Sing was present on Tatooine during the Boonta Eve Classic and watched the podrace from a balcony on Beggar's Canyon.[6]

Following the Invasion of Naboo, Sing became notorious for a killing spree committed against Jedi, among her victims being Sharad Hett, Peerce, J'Mikel. After learning of these attacks, the Jedi Council sent Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Adi Gallia, as well as Padawan A'Sharad Hett, on a hunt to track down Sing. The hunt culminated in a confrontation on Talas, where a group of Quarrens attempted to hire her to assassinate Senator Tikkes. A'Sharad Hett nearly gave into his anger while fighting Sing as she had killed his father, but managed to regain control, allowing Sing to escape.[1]

In 27 BBY, Sing was hired by Reess Kairn to kill three Shi'ido impersonators in order to cover his own tracks, only for his ruse to be uncovered leading to Sing killing him on Endor.[7] A few years later, she encountered fellow bounty hunters Jango Fett, Bossk, and Skorr while hunting down Rigorra the Hutt.[8]

During the early years of the Clone Wars, Sing was hired by Senator Vien'sai'Malloc to assassinate her colleague Elsah'sai'Moro only to be defeated by Jedi Knight Aayla Secura. She was subsequently captured and imprisoned on Oovo IV.[9] However, she was later able to secure her release by giving the Jedi information on Crimson Nova.[10] During the Cortosis droid crisis, she clashed with Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine.[11]

By the end of the Clone Wars, Sing had been captured and imprisoned once more. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, she was released by Skywalker—now the Sith Lord Darth Vader—and tasked with hunting down the Jedi survivor Jax Pavan. During the hunt, she clashed with Gregar Typho and later the Grey Paladin Laranth Tarak, before finally engaging with Pavan. After a duel, Pavan managed to outsmart Sing, causing her to fall into a reposticator presumably to her death.[2]

She managed to survive and was spotted on Tatooine once more during the Rebellion era, during which she participated in the demolition games while in search of a Force wielder.[12]

Sith Insurgency[]

In 40 ABY, Sing was hired by members of the Sith Insurgency plot to assassinate Queen Mother Tenel Ka Djo of the Hapes Consortium. Upon reaching her target on Hapes however, Sing discovered that not only was the Queen Mother a former Jedi, but her suitor Jacen Solo was one as well and the couple managed to defeat Sing. The bounty hunter was then arrested and extradited to Coruscant.[13]

Two years later, Sing was released by Director Heol Girdun and sent to Korriban, where she ended up in the tomb of XoXaan. After being joined by Zarin Kal and Alema Rar, Sing was sent to capture the Jedi apprentice Rey.[13]
