Attack of the Clones (AU) is the sequel to The Phantom Menace (AU) and the second novel in the Jedi Padmé Trilogy. It is a re-imagining of was the first serious Star Wars story written by Katana Geldar. The story is a re-imagining of the film of the same name, and like its predecessor there are many differences and similarities between the two. However, unlike The Phantom Menace, there is a point in Attack of the Clones where the storyline differs from the film.

Behind the scenes[]
The chase scene through Coruscant with Padmé on a repulsor-board is inspired by the hoverboard in the Back to the Future trilogy. Additionally, the inspiration for the Imbroglio Summit came from the fact that in canon, Dooku never answered the Loyalist Committee's requests for a meeting prior to the Clone Wars. Katana Geldar said that it was not too big of a stretch to set up some sort of political meeting, as well as have it be an effective way Palpatine could get rid of some of his political opponents.
