My ancestors were born in the mud. They struggled out of it, of course, pledged their allegiance to the darkness, and unleashed a foolish attempt to control the galaxy. It failed, as it should. Left alone, they withdrew to their homeworld and planned revenge. That revenge took the form of my birth."
"And then you slaughtered them."
"Of course. They had served their purpose. I was grateful, but not merciful.

The Asrai cult was a dark side organization that was formed on the planet Skoria sometime after the founding of the Galactic Republic. Dedicated in a manner similar to the Sith in the efforts of leading the dark side to dominance within the galaxy, they attempted an uprising against the Republic, and found themselves quickly crushed by the Jedi Order.

Defeated, they returned to their homeworld, where they initiated a massive breeding program in the hopes of creating an ultimate warrior of the dark side, one who would lead an assault on the galaxy and reclaim their honor. Jedi Shadow Lucen Solayr managed to infiltrate the remains of their cult around this time. Ultimatley, the results of their program was the birth of Raixan Fauth, a child who had an incomparable connection to the darkness. Before his training could be completed, however, he rebelled against and slaughtered them, believing their time to be finished. Acquiring his own lightsaber, Fauth gathered what few survivors remained who would pledge their loyalty to him and set off to conquer the galaxy. Among the items he salvaged from them, Fauth acquired a holocron that contained the collective memories of the wisest cultists, often referencing it as his conquest continued.

Their cult ended, their existence and the location of their home planet remained largely forgotten until the Triumvirate Subversive Intelligence Service managed to acquire the coordinates to Skoria following the Fall of Coruscant.
