'You misunderstand the Force, just as the Sith do. It is not a burden, nor a weapon, nor a power. It is, in fact, the purest expression of passion and sensation. To feel the Force is to feel all of life around you, and to revel in it.'
—Arkrason, explaining his personal philosophy of the Force to Jedi Knight Vidril Vesal.

Arkrason was a Sith Pureblood and former Sith Lord who lived during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Once a prominent and powerful Sith Lord, Arkrason grew disillusioned with the Sith and abandoned the Empire, joined by his younger brother Arkratt.

Biography[]

Born as a child to two Sith Purebloods without Force sensitivity, Arkrason and his younger brother Arkratt were quickly brought into Sith tutelage once their own Force powers emerged. Arkrason became an outstanding and renowned acolyte, known for his impressive combat skills and his charisma and popularity. While he made quick friends with his fellow acolytes, he grew to despise the Sith Academy's instructors, believing them to be loveless and needlessly vicious.

Aged eighteen, Arkrason became the apprentice of Darth Natiss, an overzealous Sith Lord who was obsessed with becoming a member of the Dark Council. To this end, Natiss employed Arkrason in many of her schemes, often being tasked with the Darth's dirty work, including spying on her rivals, murdering or capturing informants, and acting as a representative to non-Sith parts of Imperial society, such as Imperial Intelligence and the Imperial Military, the latter of which Arkrason took a liking to.

As time wore on, Arkrason became increasingly disillusioned with the Sith way of life. While he enjoyed the pleasures of life, often spending his spare time drinking or courting women, his duties to Natiss and the Empire felt like a cruel distraction. This was exacerbated by his close bond to his brother, who was regularly belittled and even physically tortured by his master, the vindictive Lord Garash. Arkrason spent more time with the Imperial Military in an official capacity to escape Natiss and her schemes, but his life was interrupted abruptly when Arkratt, somewhat encouraged by his elder brother, slew Lord Garash in a fit of anger. Seeing this as a chance to escape the dreary life of a Sith Apprentice, Arkrason murdered Darth Natiss and then fled Imperial space with his brother, just as the Galactic War came to an end. Using the chaos of the final year of the War, the brothers escaped to neutral space undetected.

For several years, the brothers journeyed from planet to planet, intermittently pursued by Imperial Intelligence and the Sith, who sought to punish them for abandoning the Empire. Arkrason spent this time revelling in his new-found freedom, taking numerous lovers and making the acquaintance of gamblers and mercenaries, and even found himself doing odd-jobs to earn an income.

Personality and traits[]

Despite his intimidating demeanour, Arkrason was in truth a charismatic individual with a surprising level of levity and cordiality. Able to make friends with a variety of sorts, Arkrason was aware of his ability to charm and used it to his advantage, whether in the case of haggling for wares, courting lovers, or slipping away from dangerous encounters. When necessary, Arkrason was capable of intensity and focus, and in serious situations was still capable of the anger familiar to all Sith.

A towering, muscular Sith Pureblood, Arkrason was tall and well-built, and capable of immense physical strength even when not using the Force. Arkrason had rich red skin, red eyes, and long black hair, which he deliberately kept long to hide his appearance from strangers and onlookers.

Powers and abilities[]

An adept Force user, Arkrason's strengths were found in combat. He was an excellent lightsaber duellist and combatant, and was also fond of using a variety of other weapons to his advantage, including blasters and explosives. He often used his Force abilities to enhance his movement in combat, leaping great distances or using chokeholds to subdue his foes.
