Rise of the Empire eraRebellion era

Arik Polvar, known by the callsign Sapphire Six from 3 BBY to 1 BBY and as Sapphire Leader from 1 BBY to 5 ABY, and also known by the codename Swordsman, was a Zabrak starfighter ace who fought with the Rebel Alliance during the Age of the Empire and the Galactic Civil War, and the older brother of the Rebel soldier Yurik Polvar. Throughout the conflict with the Empire, Polvar scored an incredible eighty-eight and a half starfighter kills in his T-65B X-wing starfighter, placing him just behind some of the Rebellion's greatest aces, such as Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Arik Polvar was born to Serit and Loza Polvar in 27 BBY, on the Zabrak homeworld of Iridonia. Possessing the unfettered will and tenacious spirit typical of Zabraks, Arik was adventerous and daring. He and his brother Yurik would often play soldier together with the local boys, acting out the Clone Wars as well as wars of the Republic's past.

However, things would take a downward turn for the Polvars and the rest of the Zabrak people when the Empire came to power. The Empire set up garrisons on Iridonia and its colonies, and raised taxes on the Zabrak to ludicrous heights, intent on destroying the Zabraks' famously ferocious will through oppression and hardship. Nevertheless, as a teenager, Arik managed to save up enough credits to buy himself a T-16 skyhopper. Arik's skyhopper quickly became a favorite way for him to escape the worries of his family's hardships, and he became quite skillful in its use, even retrofitting the craft with an illegally-obtained Baktoid Armor Workshop light laser cannon stripped from an old Separatist Hyena-class bomber in place of its normally-equipped pneumatic cannon, which he would use to blast targets he would set up in a ridge near his home.

In the cockpit, Arik wore the iconic orange and white flight suit worn by most of the Alliance's starfighter pilots. However, Arik had modified his helmet to better accommodate his horns, in order to make it more comfortable for him to wear.
