Aqinos was a male Sunesi Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order and later the New Jedi Order.

Biography[]

Born on Monor II, Aqinos was brought into the Jedi Order at an early age and trained in the ways of the Force by Master Jaled Dur. Eventually reaching the rank of Jedi Master, Aqinos arose controversy due to his teachings regarding droids, believing them to be considered sentient life. These beliefs led to him being cast out of the Jedi Order and Aqinos sought refuge aboard the Chu'unthor, where he was allowed to pass on his teachings by Master Djinn Altis.[1][2]

Around 60 BBY, Aqinos discovered the Force-sensitive Shard Ilum and her twelve children and began training them in the ways of the Force. Putting his beliefs to the test, he used the Force imbue the Shards' abilities with the shells of various battle droids, which they controlled from within. Deeming them to be full-fledged Jedi Knights, Aqinos dubbed Ilum and her children "the Iron Knights." During the Arkanian Revolution of 50 BBY, the Iron Knights fought alongside Jedi Master Mace Windu; however, despite their efforts, the Jedi Council refused to accept them into the Order.[1][2]

When the Clone Wars broke out, Aqinos's Iron Knights were granted a place in the Republic Army. At the end of the war however, Order 66 was issued and the Jedi were branded traitors to the Republic. Aqinos and his Iron Knights retreated to Dweem where they would remain hidden for the next twenty years.[1][2] At some point after the Battle of Endor, Aqinos and the Iron Knights were discovered by Luke Skywalker and accepted into his new Jedi Order.

In 10 ABY, Aqinos was entrusted with the safekeeping of the Tedryn Holocron and sent to Zegris to take Xanus Baran's place in the search for Jedi Master Morin Tharr. When he and his fellow Jedi were attacked by the Sith Lords Darth Nemesis and Darth Ravage, Aqinos—still harboring resentment against the old Jedi Order that Tharr represented for excommunicating him—gave into his fear and handed over the holocron when his fellow Jedi's lives were threatened.[3] As punishment for his actions, Aqinos was exiled once more to Dweem.[4]

Years later, during the Imperial Sith War, Aqinos was discovered and killed by the Sith Lord Darth Scythe.
