Ap'lek was a Chiss male who served as a member of the Sky-walker corps for the Chiss Ascendancy before joining the Knights of Ren. Born as Jaedec'ap'lek, he was originally known by the core name Caple.
Biography[]
Born into one of the Chiss Ruling Families, Ap'lek was taken away from his family at an early age upon being discovered to be Force-sensitive and was placed into the service of the ozyly-esehembo corps, serving as a navigator for the Chiss Ascendancy. By the time he was fourteen, Ap'lek's power had begun to fade and he was removed from service. Later on in life however, his Force-sensitivity unexpectedly returned, albeit only marginally. Rather than return to the Chiss Ascendancy, Ap'lek instead joined the Knights of Ren, seeking to forge his own path.
In 41 ABY, Ap'lek and his fellow Knights executed the remaining Followers of Taral at the command of Kylo Ren.[1] The following year, he followed Kylo Ren on a mission to Corellia to recover a datacron for the curator Sal Tyrius.[2]
Personality and traits[]
Unlike his fellow Knights, Ap'lek preferred to use deception rather than violence, a tactic he had learned during his time with the ozyly-eshembo.
Equipment[]
Ap'lek's preferred weapon of choice was a Mandalorian executioner's ax made from beskar alloy.
Behind the scenes[]
As Ap'lek's species was unspecified as of the creation of this page, the author decided to make him a Chiss based on how his name matched the naming conventions of Force-sensitive Chiss as established in the Ascendancy Trilogy by Timothy Zahn, as well as the fact that the Chiss hail from the Unknown Regions, which the Knights of Ren operate in.
Ap'lek's family name of Jaedec is derived from his name in Colin Trevorrow's Episode IX script, in which he is named Jaedec Ren.
