The Angelic Nation of Kransck was a government centered on the planet Kransck in the Ethereal Demesnes, wherein it was a voting member of the Diet of the Ethereal Demesnes as a Theocratic Demesne. It was known by a number of alternative names, including the Kran Nation, or by the four forms of its name in the Kran language, being respectively Kransckar Natsie in the North Kran Dialect, Kranskisk Naziue in the West Kran Dialect, Kransosizche Naetzoon in the East Kran Dialect, and Cransish Naitiuon in the South Kran Dialect.
The Angelic Nation was first formed as a protectorate of the Diet, designed as an effort to bring a final, lasting peace to the Kran Wars. As often occurred in Demesnes politics and diplomacy, one of the chief negotiators was a scion of a leading Ethereal noble family, being lord Artelaemius Valdayn of the Kingdom of Luctanem's House Valdayn, arguably the Demesnes' most powerful family. Under his supervision, the four distinct Kran peoples, separated by the four dialects of their common language but united by their common religion, agreed to form a planetary government united by their spiritual beliefs. This government would have a unified parliament containing two houses, one in which each of the four peoples held equal footing and one in which the representation was proportionate to population. Leading the state would be presidents and chief ministers from all four peoples, with a neutral, non-Kran individual to be appointed as a tiebreaker and mediator, the Angelic Protector.
Unsurprisingly, the Kran people chose Valdayn as their first Angelic Protector. Though a handful of his successors would be non-Valdayns, for the most part the role became one of the Valdayn family's many traditional titles in the Demesnes. As a result, the Kran delegation in the Diet of the Demesnes tended to side with whatever Luctanem sided with, though not always. Kransck remained close diplomatically and economically with Luctanem at least as far as the Second Galactic Civil War, as at that time Regent and Empress Atheria Valdayn noted in an annual address that Kran and Luctan trade had recently passed a milestone for number of centuries without interruption.
It was also around this time that Kransck took a greater interest in affairs of the galaxy outside the Demesnes for the first time since the Ruusan Reformation, opting to begin deploying the Angelic Legions of Kransck in Demesnes peacekeeping missions around the galaxy and negotiating for trade deals and formal embassies with a number of galactic governments, largely minor powers but known to include the Hapes Consortium, the Confederation, and the Hutt Cartel.
