You have the memories of a dead man! A side effect of the cloning process and the memory flashes used to train you. They will fade.
—Starkiller speaking to the clone before his escape
The renegade clone of Anakin Skywalker was a human male cloned by Starkiller from the genetic material of his former master, Darth Vader. Following Vader's death, Starkiller embarked on a quest to create a perfect, obedient duplicate of the man to take as an apprentice. Within the cloning facilities of Kamino, several failures were produced, one of these being the renegade clone.
At first the clone showed much progress, but was soon shown to be a failure. The clone was born with much difficulty differentiating himself as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader. Starkiller still however saw that the clone showed much progress, but soon decided to have the clone killed after he failed to be able to kill a hologram of his dead wife, Padme Amidala. The clone would however escape the planet of Kamino in an attempt to find his wife, the clone dead Padme. However when the clone soon discovered that the original Anakin had in fact killed his wife, the clone was driven to a great fury of anger.
Soon however, the clone was soon discovered by Rahm Kota, who was in fact on of the few survivors of Starkiller's attack on the Death Star. The two then made a deal, they would defeat Starkiller and capture Kamino, and use its resources to clone Padme. In return, the clone was to aid the Rebel Alliance in defeating the Empire. The pact was made and the two journeyed along with the Rebellion to Kamino.
At first, the battle proved in favor to the Rebellion and Skywalker would duel Starkiller. Skywalker bested Starkiller in a lightsaber duel and raised his lightsaber with the intention of killing Starkiller. Before this could happen, however, a lightsaber blade suddenly appeared through Skywalker's chest. A hooded figure, having concealed himself to get near the clone, was revealed to be the wielder of the blade. The figure turned out to be a successful clone of Vader. Skywalker fell to his knees dead, and Kota soon fell dead as well. The tide then turned against the rebellion and they were ultimately defeated by the Empire.
Personality and Traits[]
Your training made me strong enough to escape you, not obey you! "
" Yet here you are, me deadliest creation. "
" You lie! Your cloning facility will be destroyed, and you with it, if there's any justice! "
" There is no justice. Only power.
—Starkiller and the clone.
Like many of the clones before him, the renegade clone was unable to overcome Vader's emotions for his wife, making him the another failure in a project filled with failures. However, unlike many of the clones before him, the renegade clone was not as mentally insane as the previous clones, and his only true problem was his belief that he was the real Anakin Skywalker. It was not until he was able to confirm that he was indeed a clone that he truly became exactly what Starkiller wanted him to be, an uncontrollable force of the dark side.
Skywalker was also unique because unlike many of the clones before him, Skywalker did not have many memories of Vader, but rather those of the original Anakin during the Clone Wars. It is because of this flaw that prevented the clone was not as insane as many of the clones before him.
Skywalker however was not as ruthless as the dark clone, and was known to not be that different from the original Anakin Skywalker as he was shortly before becoming Darth Vader. Had the clone lived, it could be possible that the clone would have become a force for good and could have even lead the rebellion.
Powers and Abilities[]
You are powerful, but your emotions make you weak.
—Starkiller
During his training on Kamino before he would escape, the renegade clone was trained in lightsaber combat against multiple Sith training droids. Like the clones who were trained before him, the renegade clone learned to master the styles of both Shien and Djiem So, just as the original Skywalker had done. However, because of his emotional insanity, Starkiller viewed the renegade clone as weak. Also inheriting Vader's skill as a pilot and a mechanic, the renegade clone was able to easily fly a ship or construct a droid from scratch.
Behind the scenes[]
Just as with Starkiller and the dark clone, the renegade clone is based on the clone of Galen Marek featured in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. However, unlike the Starkiller clone, the renegade clone would die by the non-canon Dark side ending featured in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.
