Anakin Skywalker was a Human Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars. He was discovered on Tatooine at the age on nine by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and was the former Padawan of Obi-Wan Kenobi and during the Clone Wars the Master of Ahsoka Tano. Skywalker possessed an exceptionally strong connection to the Force and was believed to be the Chosen One of Jedi prophecy. He was secretly the husband of Padmé Amidala and he later turned to the dark side becoming the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Biography[]
Childhood[]
Despite believed to be the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker came from humble origins. For the first nine years of his life he was a slave. Skywalker and his mother Shmi moved to Tatooine early in his life and were slaves to Gardulla the Hutt and later Gardulla lost the boy and his mother in a podracing bet to a Toydarian junk dealer named Watto. Shmi Skywalker claimed that her son was conceived without a father, but could not explain how that had happened. It was the theory of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn that the will of the Force caused his birth. There is evidence to suggest that Anakin's birth may have been engineered by the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis as part of an experiment in immortality.
Even at a young age, Skywalker had a reputation for being able to build or repair anything. This was evidenced by his creation of a protocol droid named C-3PO as well as a podracer. Both were constructed from salvaged parts and nearly completed by the age of nine.
A child prodigy, Skywalker excelled at mathematics and engineering, but he was also daring and adventurous. He would often risk his own well being to help others, with little forethought or regard for the consequences of his actions. When he was only five years old, Skywalker scaled an immense dune to chase a herd of banthas away from hunters, despite almost collapsing from heat and exhaustion several times. Sometime later, while bartering with Jawas, Skywalker came across a wounded Tusken Raider and took care of it until the Tusken was taken away by his own people. A short time before the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace, Skywalker, his friend Kitster Banai, and several other youths narrowly avoided a run-in with Gardulla. After hearing of children who had been captured and imprisoned by Sebulba in hopes of selling them to Gardulla, Skywalker and his friends disguised themselves as Jawas and sneaked into Gardulla's estate to free the Ghostling children.
At about eight years of age, Skywalker had his first experience with the Sith. While rummaging through Watto's junk heap, he located an ancient war droid. Hoping to recover a holoprojector for Watto, Skywalker incidentally activated a disturbing hologram, drowned in cries and screams and the strange mention of the word "Sith." Perplexed, Skywalker rushed to the stranded Republic Fighter Corps member who had told him earlier of the angels on the moons of Iego. The spacer, in shock, told him of the 4,000-year-old wrath of the Sith and how they eventually turned inward and fought each other, bringing about their own doom. He spoke of the belief that one Sith Lord had survived and extended the order's existence to this day. Little did Skywalker know that such rumors would soon play a major part in his life.
Discovery[]

Anakin Skywalker as a child.
Ten years before the Clone Wars Skywalker's life changed forever. By happenstance, while working in Watto's shop, Skywalker met Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, R2-D2 and a girl named Padmé Amidala. The girl fascinated Skywalker so much that he asked if she was an angel. Amidala was not an angel, but a queen - Her Majesty Queen Amidala of Naboo in disguise as a simple handmaiden.
When a sandstorm began brewing, Skywalker offered his new-found friends shelter in the simple home he shared with his mother. There, Jinn and Amidala recounted their plight of how they ended up being stranded on Tatooine on their way to Coruscant because of a leak in their hyperdrive to the Skywalkers. Overwhelmed with compassion, Skywalker volunteered to enter a podrace, a daring and extremely dangerous contest. The prize money for winning would enable Skywalker's companions to purchase the parts needed to repair their starship. Though Shmi initially objected to the plan, Skywalker recalled her words that "the biggest problem in the universe [was that] nobody [helped] each other." Persuaded, Shmi reluctantly agreed to let her son race.
Just before the race, Jinn made a bet with Watto that, if Skywalker won, the boy would be freed. However, Watto specified one condition—that he roll a chance cube. If it was blue, Skywalker would be freed; red, Shmi would be freed instead. The die was weighted to land on red, but Jinn used the Force to make the cube flip to blue. The Toydarian, positive the boy would lose, accepted the results anyway. The reason for his assumption was obvious: normally, humans lacked the fast reactions needed to operate such a tremendously high-speed land vehicle. However, Skywalker's latent Force sensitivity, manifested in the form of limited prescience, gave the impression that the boy had lightning-fast reflexes. At the time, Skywalker, who dreamed of being a Jedi but lacked knowledge of the Force, believed his Force sensitivity was only his instinct that told him what he needed to do.
Because Skywalker won the race, Jinn was able to free him. However, the Jedi Master was unable to secure Shmi's release, and Skywalker was forced to choose between staying with his mother and becoming a Jedi. Skywalker chose to go with Qui-Gon, though he promised he would come back to free her. Even after the Battle of Naboo, in which Skywalker and his new companions were entangled, ended victoriously, neither the Jedi nor the Republic made any effort to emancipate her. Skywalker’s duties as a Jedi prevented him from freeing his mother himself, though she eventually obtained her freedom from Watto through the aid of a moisture farmer named Cliegg Lars.
After departing to Mos Espa, Jinn and Skywalker approached the Naboo Royal Starship, but were attacked by Sith Lord Darth Maul, who sought to capture Queen Amidala. While Jinn engaged the Sith in battle, Skywalker rushed ahead and warned those already on board. The ship lifted off and after rescuing Jinn, they left Tatooine behind, heading for Coruscant.
While on the journey to Coruscant, Skywalker further bonded with Amidala, giving her a Japor snippet for her to remember him by. Years later, Amidala would carry that same snippet at her funeral.
Upon arriving at Coruscant, Skywalker faced the Jedi High Council and was tested concerning Jinn's belief that Skywalker was the Chosen One and should be trained as a Jedi. Skywalker's gifts cemented Jinn's belief on the matter, but the Council remained skeptical. Jinn requested to train Skywalker after his current apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, completed his trials, but his request was denied. Skywalker was much older than the usual Padawan, and the Council was concerned that his prior experiences would interfere with his training. In particular, he exhibited much fear and anger, leftovers from his days as a slave; emotions that were further compounded by his separation from his mother and home. They believed he would simply not be able to master the level of emotional detachment required by a member of the Jedi Order. Kenobi, while also amazed at Skywalker's unprecedented midi-chlorian count, over twenty thousandand strong potential, initially agreed with the Council's decision. With nowhere to go on Coruscant, and no way to return to Tatooine, Skywalker followed his new friends on their mission to free Naboo.
Ultimately, Skywalker fought in the Battle of Naboo in a vicious starfighter battle above the planet. After accidentally joining the battle in orbit, Skywalker single-handedly destroyed the orbital Droid Control Ship from within moments after Lt. Gavyn Sykes destroyed the shield generator, thus rendering the Trade Federation's ground forces inactive and saving the Gungan Grand Army from destruction.
However, the celebration was tainted with the death of Qui-Gon who was slain by Darth Maul. The Master's dying wish was for Kenobi to take up Skywalker's training, which Kenobi promised to fulfill. The Council reluctantly agreed for Obi-Wan to begin Skywalker's training, though they were concerned that Skywalker would be too difficult a student for young Kenobi to handle. Anakin was the only known Jedi alive who was not trained by Master Yoda as a youngling.
Meanwhile, Palpatine, the Republic's newly-appointed Supreme Chancellor, promised Skywalker that he would watch the young Jedi's career with great interest. This would be the beginning of a long friendship between the young Jedi and the new ruler of the Republic.
Training in the Jedi Temple[]

Anakin trains in the Jedi Temple.
By the time Skywalker was fourteen he had developed into an arrogant and somewhat socially awkward boy, doubtless in part because of his rapid transition from a scrapyard slave to rising star of the Jedi Order. His natural abilities placed him leaps and bounds above his peers, and this fed his ego and caused him to distance himself from other learners of his age. He frequently showed off, chafed against authority, and displayed little respect for Obi-Wan, whom he partially viewed as inferior. Despite this perception, he did state that Obi-Wan was like a father to him, and he claimed he had the wisdom of Master Yoda and the power of Master Windu—but this praise may have been just another expression of Anakin's own arrogance, as he amended that he himself was "beyond" Kenobi in many ways, and felt Kenobi was holding him back. His relationship with his master was complicated and contradictory, due partially because Obi-Wan himself had doubts about whether he had the ability to train Anakin, something the boy did not need, especially during that critical time in his life. Frustrated, he would turn to another mentor for advice: Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.
As Anakin's early friendship with Palpatine continued, the Chancellor lent Anakin a sympathetic ear, saying things to further fuel his pride. It is likely that Palpatine's reassurances also had the effect of perpetuating Anakin's lack of control—whenever he was chided or reprimanded by Obi-Wan, Palpatine would reassure Anakin that he had done right, hence Anakin never quite had the impetus to change his behavior.
Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship had a rocky start. Obi-Wan was not the only one to see the potential in the boy, and even considered him dangerous. The only reason he continued to train the boy was because of Qui-Gon's dying wish for him to do so. He felt it a duty, though he did not feel he had the ability to train him properly. Anakin, on the other hand, knew he was just different. Because of how different he was, Anakin tended to keep to himself, not branching out and not really wanting to do so. He did, however, feel a special attachment to Obi-Wan, since he was like the father he never had. Slowly but surely, Master and apprentice began to form a special bond throughout Anakin's adolescence.
While on Coruscant, Anakin did not give up his love of tinkering with machines, and the halls of the Jedi Temple were said to be littered with his droid creations. Still craving thrills and adventure at the age of twelve, he salvaged a pair of race wings and secretly participated in the highly dangerous and illegal garbage pit races held in the lower levels of Galactic City. During one such race he was nearly killed by a Blood Carver named Ke Daiv before Obi-Wan reached him.
Obi-Wan's apprentice[]
Early missions[]
About five years into his training, Anakin and Obi-Wan had their first mission together to investigate cult leader Kad Chun. Chun, calling himself Uni, was co-leader of disenchanted idealists and refugees who wanted to flee their bureaucracy-flooded worlds. Kad's father, Vox Chun, the leader of the cult, was killed when Obi-Wan and Anakin came to investigate. Later on, Kad forgave Obi-Wan and his scheming father for what they had done.
Shortly after his first mission Anakin constructed his first lightsaber in the caves of Ilum. While he was constructing it, however, he had a dark vision of Darth Maul, the Sith who had killed Qui-Gon. After Anakin managed to defeat this specter, he awoke to find he had finished construction on his lightsaber, its blade a shining blue.
A Jedi mission to Ragoon-6 saw Obi-Wan and Anakin tangled up with a mysterious man, who was believed to be the son of Xanatos. Further research on him revealed that he was from Nierport VII, collected Sith artifacts, and was extremely wealthy for no apparent reason. After a podracing escapade, further information was uncovered regarding the man, who was trying to take over the marketing of bacta through a mining venture. Obi-Wan, along with Anakin, found out that the man was trying to impress a Sith Lord, and planning to kill the youth. Master and apprentice were able to escape, stopping Omega's mining of titanite in the process.
Mission to Zonama Sekot[]
The next mission they took was to the planet of Zonama Sekot to find Jedi Knight Vergere, who had recently vanished on a mission there. Unbeknownst to them, Wilhuff Tarkin and Raith Sienar had followed them to exploit Zonama Sekot's ability to fuse organic and high technology into starfighters, creating them at an astonishing rate and at an extremely high quality. On the planet, the colonists sold "seed-partners", which bonded with their hosts and allowed the planet to customize a starfighter for the individual. Anakin attracted many more seed-partners than anyone, and thus, he had a bigger and more intricate ship. He named this new biological ship Jabitha. When Tarkin and Sienar arrived, the planet revealed its sentient consciousness to the Jedi, explaining that Vergere had left with the mysterious "Far Outsiders" in order to protect Zonama Sekot. Anakin and Obi-Wan could not rescue the Fosh Jedi, but they could halt Tarkin's attack. When Ke Daiv, now Tarkin's bodyguard, attempted to kill Anakin, the boy, in a fit of uncontrollable rage, Force Choked the man to death. Unfortunately, Anakin was captured, and brought before Tarkin; however, Obi-Wan managed to destroy Tarkin's flagship and rescue the boy. During this, Zonama Sekot was able to activate its planetary hyperdrive, causing the planet to vanish, bound for the Unknown Regions. Afterwards, Sienar and Tarkin returned to the Republic. Unfortunately, Anakin's organic ship died away from her creator. After the conclusion of this mission, Obi-Wan and Anakin returned to Coruscant.
Outbound Flight[]
When Anakin was fifteen Master Mace Windu sent Kenobi and Skywalker on a secret mission to Barlok to monitor the overbearing Jedi Master, Jorus C'baoth, and his Padawan, Lorana Jinzler. Unbeknownst to them, Kinman Doriana, on behalf of Darth Sidious, had planned the negotiations to work splendidly in Jorus's favor, gaining him enough prestige to go ahead with his Outbound Flight Project. Obi-Wan and Anakin did rescue Jinzler after she was captured by malcontents, but their opponents were able to acquire the components they needed to create a missile and attack the negotiations. Obi-Wan tried to stop the missile, but was unsuccessful. However, C'baoth used the Force to crush the missile and that gave him the impetus he needed to quickly conclude the negotiations, as well as receive support for Outbound Flight. Following the go-ahead for Outbound Flight for the Senate, Master Windu tasked Obi-Wan with accompanying the mission at least part of the way out to keep an eye on the headstrong, arrogant C'baoth.
While they were on the expedition, Obi-Wan often butted heads with C'baoth over C'baoth's running of Outbound Flight, especially when the Jedi Master began taking prospective Jedi children away from their parents in the middle of the night. It was only when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself asked Obi-Wan and Anakin to settle a dispute on a world near Outbound Flight's final stop in Republic territory that the two would leave the expedition.
Not long after, Kenobi and his Padawan, along with Siri Tachi and her apprentice, Ferus Olin, were given another mission to investigate the disappearance of a Senator's son. In order to infiltrate a band of renegade students at an elite senatorial school on Andara, Anakin proposed that he and Ferus Olin would penetrate the school by posing to be Senators' sons. Obi-Wan's and Siri's part of the mission involved posing as parents who were enrolling their children in the school. When Ferus was captured, Anakin decided not to tell Obi-Wan, instead hoping that he would find him if he continued with the mission. When Obi-Wan learned of his Padawan's actions, he and the Jedi Council were furious.
Trailing Jenna Arbor and Roy Teda[]
Jenna escaped, however, and did not resurface again until Anakin was eighteen. From information given to them by Tyro Caladian, they found out that she'd appeared on Romin, a focus of corruption and villainy and a shelter for criminals. In order to infiltrate the planet, he, his apprentice, Siri, and Ferus disguised themselves as a band of thieves looking for refuge on the planet. They found that Jenna had allied herself with Roy Teda, the ruler of Romin, and Granta Omega, who also was at qualms with the Jedi. Before the Jedi were captured, civil war erupted. The underworld was trying to overthrow Teda. In the midst of it, Roy and Jenna fled. The criminals contacted the Jedi, thinking they were really criminals, trying to find a way offworld. However, Jenna recognized Anakin from their previous encounter, and Roy ordered his men to seize the Jedi. Before they could do so, Mace Windu and a team of Jedi arrived just in time, and arrested Roy and Jenna. Since they were trying to get to Omega, and they knew the two would lead them to him, they set the two captives free. Only a few weeks later, Obi-Wan and his apprentice trailed Jenna and Roy to Falleen, where they had managed to set up the Blackwater Systems facility to mass-produce her drug, the Zone of Self-Containment. When they were found, Jenna was forced to destroy the facility and Roy Teda fled.
Not long after, Sano Sauro, who was a friend of Granta Omega, and Bog Divinian, started to make anti-Jedi accusations in order to convince the Galactic Senate to lessen or completely dissolve its support of the Order. The vote was about whether the Jedi should be involved in the Senate's activities. It was all a part of Sauro and Omega's plan to leak the Zone of Self-Containment into the Senate's vents and assassinate Chancellor Palpatine. Anakin and Ferus, who were learning to forget their rivalry and understand each other, managed to prevent the assassination attempt on the Supreme Chancellor.
Omega's plan was uncovered, but not in time to save twenty-one Senators and several other Senate employees from being killed by seeker droids programmed by Teda. Unbeknownst to him, since Jenna and Granta had no more use for him, a seeker droid killed him, as well. Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Siri set off to find Omega, leaving Ferus to protect the Senators and Palpatine.
Tracking Omega and Jenna Zan Arbor to Korriban, four Jedi pairs—Kenobi and Skywalker, Siri and Ferus, Ry-Gaul and Tru Veld, and Soara and Darra—traveled there to confront and stop them. The apprentices were split up from the Masters to better accomplish the mission. The investigation of Dreshdae led them to the Valley of the Dark Lords. During the confrontation with Granta Omega, Kenobi had no choice but kill him as he felt Omega was too dangerous to be kept alive. However Omega had vital information concerning the Sith Lord Darth Sidious which he took with him to his grave.
Mission to Ansion[]
Shortly before the Battle of Geonosis Obi-Wan and Anakin, along with Luminara Unduli and her apprentice, Barriss Offee, were sent to Ansion to settle a border dispute that could have caused the extremely strategic planet to secede to the Confederacy. If Ansion fell, so would countless other worlds. The Jedi negotiated a settlement with city dwellers to remain in the Republic, provided they also convinced the nomadic Alwari to allow expansion into the grasslands. Little did they know that Presidente Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild was pulling the strings to cause Ansion to secede. Arriving early, Obi-Wan and Anakin were just in time to rescue Luminara and Barriss from a mob of killers. Thanks again to Shu Mai and her minion Soergg the Hutt, the Jedi were in constant danger from attack by hired killers, including a successful kidnapping of Barriss by two Ansionians, Kyakhta and Bulgan. Barriss healed the two killers of injuries though, and they became guides for the Jedi to find the nomadic clans, particularly the Borokii overclan.
Traveling on suubatars, the Jedi braved hazards such as flying chawix, kyren hordes, capture by the Yiwa clan and shanhs. On one occasion, the Jedi were required to entertain their hosts, each in their own way. Obi-Wan chose to use a story, weaving a masterful tale that thoroughly impressed the Ansionians. The Jedi eventually made contact with the Borokii overclan, who, after requiring the Jedi to retrieve a tuft of rare albino surepp wool, agreed to the Jedi's settlement—provided they helped wage war against their rivals, the Januul clan. Obi-Wan shocked his companions when he agreed, but he had a plan. When the battle lines were drawn, the Jedi marched out into the middle and refused to fight either side, calling on both clans to negotiate a settlement. Obi-Wan, Anakin, Luminara, and Barriss were subsequently attacked by both sides, but they deflected the assaults, defeating both armies.
In the wake of the following peace between the tribes, the Jedi journeyed back to the capital of Cuipernam to inform the Unity Council controlling the planet's fate of their success. While they were attacked again by thugs, the two clans sent an honor guard to help the Jedi, and Ansion remained in the Republic thanks to the efforts of Obi-Wan and his companions. Because of her status as President, Shu Mai was not discovered to be a part of the matter.
Beginning of the Clone Wars[]
Reunited with Padme[]

Anakin kisses Padme Amidala.
A day following his twentieth birthday, there was an attempt on the life of Padmé Amidala, now a Senator of Naboo, by the bounty hunter Zam Wesell. Skywalker was personally assigned to protect and escort Amidala back to her homeworld. To avoid looking conspicuous, the two traveled as refugees. Skywalker had not seen her in ten years, though he had thought about her daily since their parting at Naboo. His childhood fascination with her had turned into a powerful infatuation. In conversation, Skywalker revealed his affection for her, a distrust of the political process, and his view of the need for one strong leader. Over a short time, his infatuation for her blossomed into something more: love.
Eventually Amidala began to return his feelings. It was at Amidala's lake retreat where the two lost their inhibitions and shared their first kiss. Both seemed entranced with the other despite their different social castes. However, Amidala eventually came to her senses, and while Skywalker was concerned with his feelings and living in the present moment—even suggesting they could keep their relationship a secret—Amidala was more concerned with duty and obligation. She had enough foresight to know their current situations would not allow for a relationship between them. Skywalker's pursuit of a relationship with her was in violation of Jedi tradition, which held that although Jedi were not required to be celibate, they were to avoid attachment to all but the Force itself.
Return to Tatooine[]
Skywalker had been suffering from recurring nightmares about his mother, Shmi, for several months prior to meeting Amidala again; and, because of them, went against the spirit of his orders to protect Amidala by bringing her to Tatooine to find Shmi. Upon landing on Tatooine, Skywalker made his way straight for Watto's shop, where he discovered that a moisture farmer named Cliegg Lars had freed and married his mother. While speaking with Lars, he learned, to his horror, that Shmi had been abducted by Tusken Raiders. He immediately set out in pursuit of her on Owen Lars' swoop bike.
That night, the young Jedi discovered the Tusken camp beyond the B'Thazoshe Bridge, and slipped into the tent that contained his mother, most likely locating her with his Jedi senses. He freed her from her bonds, but it was too late. Battered, sleep-deprived, and dehydrated, Shmi Skywalker died in his arms, but not before seeing him for the last time.
Skywalker allowed the shock of her death to catalyze an explosion of his long-nursed anger and selfishness. He flew into a rage, killing everyone present—even, as he confessed to Amidala later, "the women and children." Some Jedi, including Yoda and the deceased Qui-Gon Jinn, sensed the shock of this massacre as well as Skywalker's powerful Force presence, which bordered on the dark side. Amidala was clearly troubled by what Skywalker had done, but had invested herself too much in him to be truly repulsed. She tried to soothe him with sympathy and told no one of Skywalker's hideous act. In his anger and sorrow, he rashly claimed that one day he would have the power to stop people from dying.
Battle of Geonosis []
While still on Tatooine, Skywalker discovered that Kenobi had been taken hostage by the Geonosian-engineered Confederacy of Independent Systems's droid forces. He initially decided to honor Master Windu's order to protect Amidala at all costs and to stay on Tatooine, the episode with his mother having caused him to lose confidence in himself. However, Amidala convinced him that rescuing his mentor was the right thing to do and they traveled to Geonosis.
Once on the planet, Skywalker and Amidala infiltrated the droid foundries but were soon captured as well and sentenced to die in a gladiatorial execution arena by the Sith Lord and leader of the CIS, Count Dooku. Faced with their impending fate, they confessed their love to one another.
However they did not die thanks to the arrival of a Jedi strike team led by Mace Windu. Skywalker and Kenobi received lightsabers from two unknown Jedi and Padme picked up a droids fallen blaster. Anakin stayed with Padme though the whole fight and it was only because he was protecting her that she wasn't killed. The two of them were in the survivors circle and were rescued by Yoda and the newly formed clone army.
Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padme got into a gunship and as they flew over Geonosis they noticed Count Dooku attempting to flee on a speeder bike. They chased after him but their ship was struck and Padme tumbled out. Anakin wanted to go back for her but Obi-Wan managed to convince him that catching Dooku was more important.
Anakin and Obi-Wan arrived at a hanger and got out of the ship only seconds before it was blown up by enemy fire. The two Jedi confronted Dooku in the hanger and Anakin foolishly charged at the Sith Lord and was easily incapacitated by a blast of Force Lightning forcing Obi-Wan to duel Dooku alone. Though Kenobi fought valliantly he was no

match for Dooku who defeated him by cutting him on the arm and then on the knee. Fortunately Anakin had recovered from the Force Lightning and used the Force to propel himself forwards blocking what would have been the death blow.
Obi-Wan tossed Anakin his own lightsaber and Anakin attacked Dooku with both blades but the Sith Lord quickly destroyed one of them forcing Anakin to resort to using one blade. After a flurry of swordplay Dooku outmaneuvered Anakin and severed his right arm before Force pushing him to the ground. Dooku was about to leave but was then confronted by Yoda.
Dooku and Yoda engaged in a Force duel with Dooku telekinetically hurling pieces of machinery at Yoda and Yoda telekinetically deflecting them. Dooku then tried crushing Yoda with part of the ceiling but again Yoda deflected it. Seeing his Telekinesis wasn't working Dooku tried to blast Yoda with Force Lightning but the Jedi Master deflected and absorbed it with his bare hands. Dooku realised that he couldn't defeat Yoda by Force powers alone and decided to engage the Jedi Master in a lightsaber duel.
Though Dooku's Makashi mastery made him a formidable opponent even to the Grand Master of the Jedi Order he was unable to defeat Yoda so he telekinetically brought down a large column towards the injured Skywalker and Kenobi. Yoda telekinetically lifted the column away from the two Jedi but Dooku used the oppontunity to escape in his Solar Sailor.
After being rescued by Yoda, Anakn and Obi-Wan were transported back to the Jedi Temple for healing.
Marriage to Padmé[]
After Skywalker's forearm was replaced with a mechno-arm crafted by the Chief Healer Vokara Che, he remained in the Halls of Healing as he grew accustomed to the replacement. Meanwhile, Kenobi was sent by Master Yoda to force Amidala to end her relationship with the Chosen One. Lying, she agreed, yet asked to do it herself. She suggested having Anakin escort her back to Naboo, and that is when she would end it.
However, the escort was a ploy, and Skywalker married Amidala even though that meant breaking the Jedi Code, he didn't care and set the marriage at Varykino on Naboo in a secret ceremony performed by a Naboo holyman. C-3PO and his counterpart, R2-D2, were the only witnesses. The newly-married couple would later struggle to keep their relationship secret.
The Clone Wars[]
Battle of Muunulinst and duel on Yavin IV[]
Four months into the Clone Wars, Anakin and Obi-Wan fought in the battle of Muunulinst, with Obi-Wan commanding the ground forces and Anakin leading the space forces. Anakin's exceptional piloting skills allowed him to shoot down many droid ships but then he noticed a mysterious fighter and engaged it in a dogfight. He chased the fighter though space and then down to the planet chasing through the streets of the same city his master was attacking. Eventually the fighter jumped to hyperspace and Anakin followed, disobeying direct orders from Kenobi in the process. Obi-Wan sent a squad of clones led by Captain Fordo after him.
On Yavin IV the clone squad caught up with Anakin but every one of them was killed by a mysterious assailant including Fordo. The assailant then revealed herself to Skywalker. She was Count Dooku's newly recruited Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress.

Anakin duels Asajj Ventress on Yavin IV.
Skywalker and Ventress engaged in a vicious lightsaber duel, during which they proved evenly matched with neither one able to gain advantage over the other. They fought on the ground at first but then leapt into the trees, chasing each other through the jungle until they reached an ancient temple. They fought their way to the top of the temple with both growing frustrated by their inability to overcome the other.
Finally Ventress managed to disarm Anakin and swung both lightsabers down in a killing blow. But Skywalker wasn't finished yet. He caught both her wrists in each hand and squeezed her left wrist with his metal hand forcing her to let go of her lightsaber. Then Anakin, driven into a rage both from the pain of the wound over his eye and his frustration at fighting such a formidable opponent, attacked Ventress battering away at her defences. As he attacked he got brief visions of Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda looking very disturbed by what he was doing. He finally knocked Ventress off the edge of the Temple and gave a roar of rage and triumph. However his victory had only been managed by tapping into his dark side.
Anakin found his way back to his fighter and flew back to Muunulinst where he was scolded by Obi-Wan for disobeying orders. The Jedi were then contacted by Jedi Master Adi Gallia who needed immediate evacuation from Hypori. Obi-Wan and Anakin lost the connection and, initially unaware that Gallia had been killed by Grievous just after sending the message, sent Commander Rex and a squad of clones to rescue them. The clones managed to rescue Ki-Adi-Mundi, Aayla Secura and Ahsoka Tano.
Promotion[]
Shortly after this, Anakin was promoted to Jedi Knight though about half of the Council was unsure if he deserved it. A few days after his promotion, he slipped out of the Jedi Temple to meet with Padme Amidala but Ahsoka Tano followed him. Upon returning to the Temple, Ahsoka casually commented that Padme seemed nice and Anakin initially threatened her with his lightsaber, afraid that she was going to tell the Jedi Council. After Ahsoka suggested other ways to leave the Temple which would be harder to notice, Anakin suspiciously wondered if she was trying to manipulate him. He later had a sparring match with her and was impressed by her skill.
A combination of respect for Ahsoka's talent and mistrust in her willingness to conceal his and Padme's relationship caused Anakin to choose to take her as his Padawan to keep an eye on her. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi all thought it was a bad idea but Yoda suggested that both Anakin and Ahsoka could benefit from it.
Battle of Kamino[]
Anakin and Ahsoka's first mission was to help defend Kamino. During the aerial battle, Ahsoka was shot down and almost eaten alive by a sea leviathan before Anakin crashed his own ship into the monster's mouth and caused it to flee. They were then rescued by a Kaminoan. Shortly after their rescue, they started feeling the effects of Oppo Rancisis' battle meditation when the Thisspiasian Jedi Master emerged from hyperspace. This turned the tide of the battle and the pair teamed up with Shaak Ti to save the latest generation of clones, using the Force to block the entrance with debris after Shaak Ti ripped open a hole to allow the ocean to sweep away many of the droids.
The Malevolence[]
On their first assignment, Anakin and Ahsoka went to rescue Plo Koon, when he was stranded in an escape pod in the Abregado system with a small group of Clone troopers. Only Ahsoka's ability to sense Master Koon through the Force - something she admitted was difficult for her and it was only due to her close personal connection to Koon that she could sense him at all - kept Skywalker from giving up on him after an unsuccessful search, as well as the fact that she grabbed the controls of the ship and began piloting it herself. She found Plo and his clones and rescued them. Plo informed them that the "secret weapon" that the Separatists were using was an ion cannon that rendered their ships defenceless. At that point the ship passed by, forcing them to shut down all systems before it could detect them. They however forgot to shut off the medical droid. It was detected by the Malevolence, which responded by firing the ion cannon. The group managed to escape the ion wave by jumping into hyperspace, taking knowledge of the Separatist weapon with them.
Shortly after, Anakin created a plan to utilize Y-wing bombers in a daring attack on the Malevolence, primarily seeking to take out General Grievous and ensure a speedier resolution to the war. The Republic plotted the course of the Separatist super weapon to the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center, and in an attempt to arrive there before it, the strike force made its way through the Balmorran Run; however, the small force had not reckoned on being confronted by Neebray mantas. After barely escaping with their lives, the strike team engaged in battle with the Malevolence, taking several casualties. When it became apparent that the original plan would fail, Ahsoka who was acting as her Master's gunner, suggested a change in tactics. With this in mind Plo devised a plan that sought to cause the Separatist warship's ion cannons to overload; this tactic proved successful and shortly after destroying the ion cannons, Master Kenobi arrived in system with three Republic ships that began pursuit of the fleeing Malevolence.
Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Plo began the final attack on the Malevolence when they received an incoming transmission from Padme Amidala and C-3PO, who were being pulled on board the Malevolence via a tractor beam. Anakin, Obi-Wan and R2-D2 infiltrated the Malevolence through an airlock. After rescuing his wife, Anakin rigged the navicomputer and programmed the ship to crash into a nearby moon. The group then fled from the doomed Malevolence but Grievous escaped as well.
Mission to Orto Plutonia[]
When Ahsoka was sent to guard Nute Gunray, Anakin and Obi-Wan were sent to Orto Plutonia to investigate the loss of Republic troopers on the planet. They were accompanied by two representitives of Pantora, Chairman Chi Cho and Senator Riyo Chuchi. They found that the culprits were the native Talz but since they were only defending their home and meant no harm to the war effort, the Jedi attempted to find a peaceful solution to the problem. Chairman Cho refused and declared war on the Talz but shortly after he was killed by a Talz's spear, Senator Chuchi managed to make peace with the inhabitants.
Personality and traits[]
As a young boy, Anakin was thoughtful and intelligent. He was friendly and easily got along with others despite his status as a slave. When the Jedi arrived, he was helpful and generous doing all that he could to help them off-planet and entering in a dangerous the podrace as well as giving them the sizable reward money which he and his mother would have had use for. He also hated being treated unjustly or being wrongly accused. He was fiercely loyal, willing to do anything to keep those he was close to from harm, at any cost. His only price for this dedication was loyalty in return.
His separation from his mother was the hardest thing he'd ever done, and it still hurt him for years. Because of his fear of losing more people he cared about, he kept to himself, fiddling around with his only friends, the Temple droids. During this, however, he grew especially close to Obi-Wan, considering him a father and a role model. Due to his sudden escalation from slave to being known as the "Chosen One" and the rising star of the Jedi Order, pride and arrogance set in. He grew cocky, self-appreciating, and he grew to hate being reprimanded or lectured. He also hated admitting when he'd made a mistake.
Anakin was naturally honest and despised lying and deception, and generally hated politics, considering most politicians to be greedy and selfish. However he made exceptions for Padme Amidala and Chancellor Palpatine becoming Padme's secret husband and, or so he believed, Palpatine's good friend. Obi-Wan's continual self-consciousness when it came to Anakin hurt the boy, who at times wasn't sure whether Obi-Wan liked him, something his heart craved. Therefore, he turned to a more complimenting, comforting source: Palpatine.
However Anakin's dark side would come out at times and ironically he started showing more dark traits while he was a Jedi than while he was a slave, even though Jedi were trained to control their inner darkness. The death of his mother caused him to slaughter a whole village of Tusken raiders and he was also known to react viciously when he was taunted.
Anakin was also a hypocrite, arguably more so than the Jedi Council, which became hugely hypocritical during the Clone Wars. His hypocritical nature was especially noticeable when he was around Ahsoka since he constantly scolded her for things that he would do himself. Furthermore, Skywalker was also a massive control freak but, ironically, suffered from a lack of control and self-awareness in regards to his own flaws. When he took Ahsoka as his Padawan, he did so out of concern that she would tell the Jedi Council about his relationship with Padme Amidala, feeling like he needed to keep the young Togruta under his personal control to stop her from revealing his secret. Ahsoka was initially oblivious to Anakin's unhealthy and controlling attitude towards her, though she noticed that his teaching style was drastically different from K'Kruhk's. Despite his ulterior motive, Anakin was genuinely impressed when Ahsoka held her own against him in a sparring match.
Powers and abilities[]
Lightsaber training[]
Though Anakin's connection to the Force was even stronger than Yoda's or Darth Sidious' he focused mainly on lightsaber combat, having been trained as a Jedi Guardian and becoming an exceptionally skilled swordsman, half through training and half through instinct. By the time he faced Count Dooku on Geonosis, Anakin believed himself to be one of the greatest swordsmen in the Order. However Dooku's Makashi mastery was too much for him, even when he was armed with two lightsabers and the Sith Lord overwhelmed him and sliced off his right arm.
Anakin's signature fighting style was Djem So and his skill in the style allowed him to hold his own against Count Dooku for a while but like Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was defeated. During the Petranaki arena on Geonosis, he relied mostly on Djem So but also combined its precise deflection with elements of Soresu to get him through the battle. However, Anakin disliked Soresu's defensive approach, only learning it out of respect for Obi-Wan. He also utilised Ataru sometimes as it suited his flashy and bold personality and Ataru's agility helped him compensate for Djem So's typical lack of mobility. In addition, Anakin had some skill in Jar'Kai though he was still no match for Count Dooku's Makashi and due to his lack of extensive training with dual blades, Anakin lasted longer with one lightsaber. However, after this defeat, Anakin's Jar'Kai skill increased to a degree that allowed him to substantially contribute to Ahsoka Tano's training in the dual bladed style.
Anakin also survived several confrontations with Dooku's powerful Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress and defeated her during their first encounter on Yavin IV. However, Ventress managed to inflict a scar over his right eye in the process despite Anakin being fuelled by the Dark side.
Force powers[]
Anakin Skywalker possessed the highest known midi-chlorian count in history and therefore possessed an exceptionally powerful connection to the Force, surpassing that of even Yoda and Darth Sidious. He and was capable of very powerful Force Pushes, Force Waves and even Force Repulses, mastering all three as a Padawan despite Force Repulse being considered a Master level ability. He was also skilled at Telekinesis able to hurl large objects at his opponents and manipulate multiple pieces of debris at the same time.
Anakin was also notable for his Force Choke, which he used quite frequently to threaten his enemies. When truly enraged, he could simply crush them with the Force without even taking the time to choke them to death.
Anakin also had a natural talent for Force Valor, which enhanced his already exceptional lightsaber combat skills. He taught this ability to Ahsoka Tano.
Despite mostly using the Force for aggressive feats, Anakin also quickly learned how to use it for less violent tasks. He was skilled at Jedi Mind Tricks and Animal Friendship, using the latter to calm the Reek that was present during the battle of Geonosis, allowing him to ride it.
Anakin's Force Sense and capacity for Force Visions were also extremely powerful, though he saw this as a curse rather than a blessing, envying Ahsoka Tano's less advanced power in this regard. He was able to sense Shmi Skywalker's suffering from many systems away and in advance of her actual death. He also tended to see the future with such terrifying precision, like the death of his wife Padme, that he would become obsessed with altering it by any means necessary, only for the vision to come true anyway in part due to his own decisions.
Other abilities[]
Anakin was also an incredible pilot, the best in the Jedi Order, with even Saesee Tiin being unoffended when Kit Fisto openly praised Anakin as such. In addition he was excellent at building machines from a young age and built C-3PO from spare parts. He could fix almost anything mechanical.
