Anakin Skywalker—called Ani by both his mother and his wife, as well as Watto—was a legendary Force-sensitive Human male who served the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Knight and later becoming the founder of a new organisation that used both force sensatives and non force users as opratives going against centuries of Jedi traditions. Born to Shmi Skywalker, later in life he became the husband of Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo and the father to Cordé, Luke and Leia Skywalker.
Although he would later become a crucial figure in the galaxy, Skywalker came from humble origins. He spent the first years of his life on Tatooine as a slave along with his mother. At the age of nine Skywalker met Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. After obtaining his freedom by having been bet on by Jinn and winning the Boonta Eve Classic, Skywalker went with Jinn and departed from Tatooine, though troubled by leaving behind his mother. Skywalker took part in the Battle of Naboo, destroying the Droid Control Station despite his young age. Soon after, he joined the Jedi Order, becoming a Padawan to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Skywalker was believed to be (and indeed was) the Chosen One but unknown to the Jedi was that they had been misreading it. It would be many years later when the Jedi finally discover that destroying the Sith would not bring balance back to the force.
Skywalker and Kenobi traveled together on many missions in the ensuing decade. In 22 BBY, Skywalker was reunited with Padmé Amidala, the former queen of Naboo and new Senator of the Chommell Sector. He escorted her to Naboo due to the rising violence of the Separatist Crisis, and the two fought at the Battle of Geonosis, the beginning of the Clone Wars. In the midst of these events, Skywalker also endured the violent death of his mother.
Shortly after the death of his mother and realizing that he had failed to keep the promise he made to himself Anakin decides to leave the Jedi Order to return to the Outer Rim in an attempt to fight against the injustice that is rampant there. Unknown to Anakin at that time though was that the force ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn was influencing him. Shortly after leaving the Jedi Order Anakin returns to Naboo where he and Padme marry in a closed ceremony attended by only those closest to them.
Biography[]
Pre Birth (The Prophecy of the Chosen One)[]
Thousands of years before the birth of Anakin Skywalker an unknown force user who was believed to be a Jedi revealed a prophecy that the force itself would create a child that would bring the force back into balance.
Unfortunately the prophecy became distorted as time passed which caused the Jedi to believe that bringing the force back into balance meant destroying the sith. This twist in the prophecy would one day have a huge impact on the galaxy when Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Maul first make an appearance.
Due to the nature of the Jedi believing that their views on the force were the only right ones and that they alone understood the will of the force the prophecy over time was altered to fit in more with their belief system. This newer prophecy stated the this chosen one would be a child born of the force and that this child would destroy the sith bringing the force back into balance.
Thus as time went on it was believed that only a Jedi could be the chosen one as they were the natural enemies of the sith. This belief would cause great problems when Qui-Gon Jinn discovered a young boy on the desert world of Tatooine.
Adult life (22 BBY - ?)[]
At the age of nineteen, in 22 BBY, Skywalker and Kenobi, along with Luminara Unduli and her apprentice, Barriss Offee, were sent to Ansion to settle a border dispute that had the potential to cause the extremely strategic planet to secede to the Confederacy. If Ansion fell, so would countless other worlds. The Jedi negotiated a settlement with city dwellers to remain in the Republic, provided they also convinced the nomadic Alwari to allow expansion into the grasslands. Little did they know that Presidente Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild was pulling the strings to cause Ansion to secede. Arriving early, Kenobi and Skywalker were just in time to rescue Unduli and Offee from a mob of killers. Thanks again to Shu Mai and her minion Soergg the Hutt, the Jedi were in constant danger from attack by hired killers, including a successful kidnapping of Offee by two Ansionians, Kyakhta and Bulgan. Offee healed the two killers of injuries though, and they became guides for the Jedi to find the nomadic clans, particularly the Borokii overclan. Traveling on suubatars, the Jedi braved hazards such as flying chawix, kyren hordes, capture by the Yiwa clan and shanhs. On one occasion, the Jedi were required to entertain their hosts, each in their own way. Skywalker chose to sing a song, that impressed the Ansionians. The Jedi eventually made contact with the Borokii overclan, who, after requiring the Jedi to retrieve a tuft of rare albino surepp wool, agreed to the Jedi's settlement—provided they helped wage war against their rivals, the Januul clan. Skywalker was shocked when Kenobi agreed, but he had a plan. When the battle lines were drawn, the Jedi marched out into the middle and refused to fight either side, calling on both clans to negotiate a settlement. Kenobi, Skywalker, Unduli, and Offee were subsequently attacked by both sides, but they deflected the assaults, and amazingly parried only the weapons, defeating both armies with no loss of life. In the wake of the following peace between the tribes, the Jedi journeyed back to the capital of Cuipernam to inform the Unity Council controlling the planet's fate of their success. While they were attacked again by thugs, the two clans sent an honor guard to help the Jedi, and Ansion remained in the Republic thanks to the efforts of Skywalker and his companions. Because of her status as President, Shu Mai was not discovered to be a part of the matter.
Reunited with Padmé[]
Just one day after his twentieth birthday, there was an attempt on the life of Padmé Amidala, now the Senator of the Chommell sector, by the bounty hunter Zam Wesell. Skywalker was personally assigned to protect and escort Amidala back to her homeworld. To avoid looking conspicuous, the two traveled as refugees. Skywalker had not seen her in ten years, though he had thought about her daily since their parting at Naboo. His childhood fascination with her had turned into a powerful infatuation. In conversation, Skywalker revealed his affection for her, his frustration with Kenobi's training methods, a distrust of the political process, and his view of the need for one strong leader. Over a short time, his infatuation for her blossomed into something more: love. Eventually Amidala began to return his feelings.
It was at Amidala's lake retreat where the two lost their inhibitions and shared their first kiss. Both seemed entranced with the other despite their different social castes. However, Amidala eventually came to her senses, and while Skywalker was concerned with his feelings and living in the present moment—even suggesting they could keep their relationship a secret—Amidala was more concerned with duty and obligation. She had enough foresight to know their current situations would not allow for a relationship between them. Skywalker's pursuit of a relationship with her was in violation of Jedi tradition, which held that although Jedi were not required to be celibate, they were to avoid attachment to all but the Force itself.
Return to Tatooine[]
Skywalker had been suffering from recurring nightmares about his mother, Shmi, for several months prior to meeting Amidala again; and, because of them, went against the spirit of his orders to protect Amidala by bringing her to Tatooine to find Shmi. Upon landing on Tatooine, Skywalker made his way straight for Watto's shop, where he discovered that a moisture farmer named Cliegg Lars had freed and married his mother.
While speaking with Lars, he learned, to his horror, that Shmi had been abducted by Tusken Raiders. He immediately set out in pursuit of her on Owen Lars' swoop bike. That night, the young Jedi discovered the Tusken camp beyond the B'Thazoshe Bridge, and slipped into the tent that contained his mother, most likely locating her with his Jedi senses. He freed her from her bonds, but it was too late. Battered, sleep-deprived, and dehydrated, Shmi Skywalker died in his arms, but not before seeing him for the last time.
Skywalker in shock and anger over the death of his mother almost lost all control of his emotions and was about to wipe out the entire Tusken camp. Fortunately for Anakin just before he could leave the tent his mother was in he heard Qui-Gon Jinn's voice which brought him out of his rage. Unknown to Anakin at the time was that he didn't imagine hearing the voice of the man that had freed him from slavery. That one moment of almost losing himself to the dark side did however have a positive effect on the young Jedi. Realising for the first time that his Master Obi-Wan had been right about how his emotions could lead him into trouble. This one realisation would force Skywalker to look back on his life and what he saw he didn't like.
During his escape from the Tusken camp with his mothers body Anakin realised for the first time that he may have truly made a mistake in becoming a Jedi and began to feel guilty over the fact that he had failed to keep the one promise he had made to his mother as well as a promise he had made to himself as a child.
When Anakin told Padmé that he had nearly killed the tribe in anger over his mothers death she was clearly shocked but also understanding. When asked what stopped him he didn't give a clear answer as he himself was still confused by the fact that it was Qui-Gon's voice that had brought him out of his anger. While trying to comfort him Padmé reminded Anakin that being angry simply made him human.
Battle of Geonosis[]
While still on Tatooine, just at the end of his mothers funeral Skywalker discovered that Kenobi had been taken hostage by the Geonosian-engineered Confederacy of Independent Systems's droid forces. He initially decided to honor Master Windu's order to protect Amidala at all costs and to stay on Tatooine, the episode with his mother having caused him to question himself. However, Amidala convinced him that rescuing his mentor was the right thing to do and they traveled to Geonosis. Once on the planet, Skywalker and Amidala infiltrated the droid foundries but were soon captured as well and sentenced to die in a gladiatorial execution arena. Faced with their impending fate, they finally confessed their love to one another and kissed for what they thought was the last time. The timely arrival of the Jedi and eventually the clone troopers allowed both of them to escape and fight in the ensuing battle.
Skywalker and Kenobi pursued Count Dooku, the mastermind of the Confederacy and, unbeknownst to them, a Sith Lord. They gave chase across the vast Geonosian sands, where he led them to a CIS-owned hangar. Once they caught up with Dooku, Skywalker, against the better advice of his Master, foolishly charged the Sith with a headstrong attitude. It was the Padawan's undoing: Dooku unleashed a powerful barrage of Force lightning on Skywalker, knocking the youth unconscious and leaving Kenobi to face Dooku alone. Kenobi put up a valiant fight, however, his skills proved no match for the more powerful and experienced Dooku, and he was soon incapacitated. As Skywalker recovered from the Force lightning, he witnessed Dooku raising his lightsaber to deliver the final blow against the fallen Kenobi.
Skywalker, calling upon the Force, leapt into the path of Dooku's lightsaber, blocking it with his own, saving his Master's life in the process. Taking up his fallen master's weapon, Skywalker unleashed a flurry of attacks, which caught Dooku off guard at first. During the fight Anakin felt different and calmer than before and was able to hold his own against Dooku until the Count got a better position and unleashed a second more powerful blast of force lightening. Knocked out from the attack Anakin didn't witness the arrival of Master Yoda who confronted the fallen Jedi. When Anakin woke he saw Dooku's ship leaving the hanger while Yoda made his way towards them to check on their injuries.
After the Battle Obi-Wan was taken back to one of the Republic ships where he was transported back to the temple for healing. During this time Anakin and Padmé returned to the capital in her ship. During the return trip to Coruscan Anakin spent a lot of time thinking about his future and came to realise that he didn't belong with the Jedi anymore. Part of him reseted the way that they had let him suffer with visions of his mother being in pain and he partly blamed them for her death. Confronted with his own guilt over failing to keep his promise to her Anakin realised that he needed to leave the Jedi Order so that he could keep the other promises he made as a child. Telling Padmé of his plans to leave the Jedi Order at first did not go down well with her. Due to the now romantic nature of their relationship Padmé was afraid that he was leaving the Jedi for her and she felt that she didn't deserve that kind of sacrifice since she remembered how Anakin had said when they first met about that he had always wanted to be a Jedi. Despite her concerns Anakin was able to assure her that he was doing the right thing and that he realised that he had given up so much being a Jedi and that he had come to realise that the price that came with him going with Qui-Gon all those years ago was simply to high. He then told Padmé that he intended on returning to the Outer Rim so that he could finally keep the promises he had made as a child.

Return to Coruscant[]
Upon returning to Coruscant after the battle of Geonosis Anakin went before the Jedi Council and informed them that he wished to resign as a member of the Jedi Order. Shocked and counfused by his decision to leave the Jedi Council told him to take two weeks and think things over before making a final decision.
During this two week period Obi-Wan Kenobi made several attempts to keep Anakin amongst the Jedi Order. Kenobi went as far as trying to manipulate Padmé as well as contacting the Queen of Naboo herself to try and force Anakin and Padmé to separate. Obi-Wan's plans though did not work and the Jedi Master was forced to accept that Anakin would be leaving the Order. Unknown to Anakin though was that Yoda had given Obi-Wan a talking to as well.
While waiting to go before the Jedi Council Anakin would spend the next two weeks preparing for his depature. He would spend little time with Padmé but the two of them knew that they would be together soon enough and that made it easier for them to part. During those two weeks Anakin bought a ship at an auction that was heavily damaged and would spend a lot of time repairing it. The ship itself was custom built and designed for deep space research. As a result of this the ship was heavily armoured.
During this time Anakin also struck up a new friendship with Master Yoda who for reasons unknown to him at the time seemed to agree that Anakin's future was not with the Jedi. The two of them would have several conversations before he finally left the Order and Anakin had promised to keep in contact with Yoda about his travels.
Anakin's eventual departure from the Jedi Order didn't go as well as he expected but due to Yoda's help he was knighted before leaving. This was due to Yoda wanting Obi-Wan placed on the council.
When Anakin did officially resign many on the council were not happy about it and it became clear to him that the council didn't trust him and probibly never would.
Before leaving Anakin and Obi-Wan would have a talk and the two of them make peace over Obi-Wan's attempts to keep him within the Order. For the first time in the ten years he had known Obi-Wan he finally felt like he had his Masters approval and respect.
Return to Naboo (The Wedding of Anakin and Padmé)[]
Around three weeks after returning to Naboo, Anakin arrived on Naboo and the pair began to plan for their wedding. The wedding itself was a small one with only Padmé's family present as well as surprise guests in the form of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Siri Tachi.
For Anakin's part he was glad that Kenobi came to the wedding as he had nobody to stand by him as family. While there Kenobi also apologised to Padmé for his actions in trying to end her relationship with Anakin. Despite being hurt over Kenobi's actions she instantly forgive him and told the now Jedi Master that she was glad that he came and that Anakin had at least one person he called family to stand by him.
After the wedding both Anakin and Padmé would spend the next week alone at Varykino where they first fell in love.
Tython[]
After his wife returned to Coruscant and resumed her duties in the Senate Anakin had a visitor appear on board his ship (The Twilights Knight). This visitor claimed to be the former Jedi Knight and Sith Lord Revan.
Claiming to have been sent by the force itself to guide him Anakin decided to listen to the man who instructed him to go to the ancient Jedi home world of Tython.
While on Tython Revan began to teach Anakin new ways of using the force as well as teaching him how to fight without relying on the force.
Over the space of two months Revan would also instruct Anakin on battle tactics as well as lightsaber combat. Anakin would also come to learn a lot about the ancient Jedi Order as well as learning how the Jedi and Sith Orders first began.
Dantooine[]
After spending two months on Tython, Revan and Anakin head to Dantooine in the hopes of getting their hands on some new lightsaber crystals. While there Anakin has a vision of the past that not only depicts Revan's last time within the crystal cave but also the last time the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik was there.
Shortly after getting hold of some crystals from the cave Anakin and Revan who is using the name Kaiden Korr end up having to help the locals fight off a separatist attack. During this time Anakin comes face to face with the Jedi for the first time in over three months.
Coruscant[]
After helping the locals on Dantooine fight off the separatist's, Revan tells Anakin that he needs to spend some time with his wife. Happily Anakin complies and the two head off to Corusant.
Arriving at Coruscant Revan tells Anakin that they have a week until they leave and that he should enjoy the time he has with his wife. Not needing to be told twice Anakin heads straight for Padmé's apartment where the two share a night of uninterrupted passion.
Over the course of the next several days Anakin and Padmé spend as much time together as they possibly can.
During this time Anakin also introduces his wife to Revan.
Nar Shaddaa[]
After spending a week with his wife Anakin is told by Revan that it is time for them to leave. Doing so Anakin says goodbye to his wife and he and Revan leave Coruscant.
After arriving on Nar Shaddaa the two make their first attack on a small slaver group and free a dozen slaves that are going up for auction. When they free the slaves Anakin and Revan also hack into the slavers computers and steal all their credits before leaving. Anakin and Revan give some of the credits they stole to the former slaves while asking if a few would like to join them in their fight against slavery. Four of the former slaves do
Tatooine[]
After the success of their first mission together Anakin and Revan go to Tatooine and using some of the credits they stole buy Watto’s failing salvage business off him to use it as a front to start their underground fight against slavery.
FOUR MONTHS LATER.
Four months after Anakin and Revan arrived on Tatooine and bought Watto’s business from him (Now Starkiller Repairs). During those four months both Anakin and Revan have began to build an underground movement helping slaves to gain their freedom.
During this time both Anakin and Revan also begin to formulate a plan to remove Jabba The Hutt himself from power.
A few weeks later Anakin, Revan and several former slaves attack Jabba at his palace and kill the hutt freeing several dozen slaves in the process.
With Jabba The Hutt dead along with some of the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy Anakin and Revan begin turning Jabba’s palace into the sight for their new headquarters.
With now over fifty former slaves joining them both Anakin and Revan decide to officially create their own group (The Rangers) and begin making plans to spread out across Tatooine targeting slavers and criminals alike.
Shortly after the death of Jabba the Hutt, Dooku and Ventress arrive on Tatooine following orders from their master to Kill Anakin Skywalker. During the fight Anakin kills Ventress and Dooku realises that Skywalker has become far more powerful and that his skills are more than a match for him.
Anakin defeats Dooku but out of respect for Qui-Gon tells the former Jedi now turned Sith to leave Tatooine. Before Dooku leaves though Anakin asks him if he really believes joining the Sith is worth it and tells the former Jedi that he still has a chance to change the path he is heading down.
Naboo[]
Personality and traits[]
As a young boy, Skywalker was thoughtful and intelligent. He was friendly and easily got along with others despite his status as a slave. He also had a special place in his heart for his mother, whom he constantly built inventions to sell or to use to lighten her workload. At the coming of the Jedi, he was both helpful and generous; doing all that he could to help them off-planet, risking his life at the podrace as well as giving them the sizable reward money which he and his mother would have had use for. Though lovable, he also was one to carry grudges and was vengeful, but he commonly held these two traits in check. He also hated being treated unjustly or being wrongly accused. He was fiercely loyal, doing anything to keep those he was close to from harm, at any cost. His only price for this dedication was loyalty in return.
His separation from his mother was the hardest thing he'd ever done, and it still hurt him for years. Because of his fear of losing even more friends in such a manner, he kept to himself, fiddling around with his only friends, the Temple droids. During this, however, he grew especially close to Kenobi, considering him a father and a role model. Due to his sudden escalation from slave to being known as the "Chosen One" and the rising star of the Jedi Order, pride and arrogance set in. He grew cocky, self-appreciating, and he grew to hate being reprimanded or lectured.
He was naturally honest and despised lying and deception, and especially hated politics, correctly considering most politicians to be greedy and self-conceited. Kenobi's continual self-consciousness when it came to Skywalker hurt the boy, who at times wasn't sure whether Kenobi liked him, something his heart craved. Therefore, he turned to a more complimenting, comforting source: Palpatine.
After the death of his mother and his brush with the Dark Side Anakin began to see what his lack of control could turn him into. He would one day tell his wife that he often thought about what would have happened had he lost control and given in to the Dark Side that night. As a result of his brush with the Dark Side Anakin started to realise that he needed to learn how to remain objective and look at situations as a whole instead of acting on impulse.
Powers and Abilities[]
Lightsaber Training[]
Anakin Skywalker was trained by the Order's most promising Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Through him, Skywalker would inherit a rich tradition of lightsaber training. Skywalker's style featured elements of many masters, making him outstandingly talented, even at a very young age.
Both Form V variants became the favored fighting styles of Anakin Skywalker, as their aggressive and strength-oriented fighting methods fit well with his arrogant, confrontational personality type. Due to his natural talent for lightsaber combat, he advanced quickly, an achievement which fed his ego, and he came to consider himself a match for Yoda. His specialty in the Shien form stood him in good stead during heated engagements with blaster-wielding foes, such as the Battle of Geonosis, and he became a formidable lightsaber duelist.
While preparing to leave the Jedi Order Master Yoda give Anakin unresricted access to the Jedi Archives. With complete access to the Archives Anakin copied all information and training material for all known lightsaber fighting styles. Both the standard Jedi forms as well as the known Sith fighting forms. Anakin would spend a lot of time studying these lightsaber forms and would eventually go on to create his own unique form which he would then one day pass onto his children.
Force Powers[]
Jedi Knight[]
The fact that Skywalker was born with the highest known midi-chlorian count in galactic history and was considered to be the Chosen One leads to various conclusions about his Force potential and power. Although extremely young and having less than perfect training (due to his late age joining the Order), Skywalker was one of the most powerful living Jedi.
Skywalker's unprecedented midi-chlorian count made him one of the most powerful members of the Jedi Order; however, it also made Skywalker arrogant. When he came to the Jedi Temple at the age of nine, he began to develop at a much faster and accelerated pace than his fellow Padawans, further feeding his pride and self-importance.
Skywalker was skilled in the use of telekinesis able to lift heavy objects with minimal effort. He was also skilled at Force Jump, and was able to leap massive distances. Skywalker was also capable of a powerful Force Push. He was also skilled at Jedi Mind Tricks, Force speed. Anakin also had an affinity for the use of Force visions, such as when he predicted the death mother. His Force Visions ability though was not something that he was able to control and his visions often appeared in the form of dreams. During the Battle of Geonosis, Skywalker displayed some skill in Animal friendship, allowing him to ride the reek that was present in the arena.
After Leaving the Jedi Order[]
After leaving the Jedi Order Anakin began learning about the force from a copy of Qui-Gon Jinn's holocron which was given to him by Master Yoda. Later he would also learn from a copy of Yoda's holocron as well as learning from the former Jedi Knight and Sith Lord Revan.
Qui-Gon's holocron would teach Anakin more about the Living Force as well as teaching him things that Obi-Wan had not.
From Yoda's holocron Anakin would learn more about the Unifying Force as well as some things about the Living Force that Qui-Gon's holocron could not teach.
Anakin's training from Revan would be the most influental as the former Jedi Knight and Sith Lord would teach him how to balance the light and dark sides of the force within himself. Revan would go on to teach Anakin everything he knew about the force including techniqes he learned from his long time friend Meetra Surik also known in the history books as the Jedi Exile.
Through this training Anakin would learn how to use both the light and dark sides of the force without being influenced by them. In doing so he would one day achieve a power beyond any other force user that had ever lived or would ever live.
Other Skills[]
Relationships[]
Padmé Amidala[]
- Padme Amidala Skywalker: "Anakin Skywalker…What am I going to do with you"
- Anakin Skywalker: "Love me forever"
- Padme Amidala Skywalker: "Forever"
Skywalker had met the disguised Queen Amidala in his home of Mos Espa, where she passed off as a commoner. After parting ways after the Battle of Theed, he continually thought of her, and his fascination grew for his bold and beautiful friend, who was four years his senior. They met again ten years later, and his fascination blossomed into love. After a hair-raising series of adventures together, she began to return his affection, and the two married shortly after the beginning of the Clone Wars.
After the battle of Geonosis Anakin revealed to Padmé that he was leaving the Jedi Order. At first she was reluctant as she was afraid that she was the reason that he was giving up his life as a Jedi. During the trip back to Coruscant Anakin told Padmé that even though he would leave the Order for her, she wasn't the reason he had decided to leave. This would lead Anakin to reveal some of the horrors of his time as a slave to make her understand that he was leaving the Order because he felt like he had failed to keep the promises he had made as a child. Realising the horrors Anakin had faced as a child Padmé came to realise that leaving the Order was something that he had to do and that for him the slaves of the Outer Rim were his people and that he had to try and help them.
A few weeks after returning to Coruscant Padmé left to return to Naboo while Anakin stayed at the Jedi Temple preparing to resign and leave them forever. Three weeks after she left for Naboo both Anakin and Herself were married at the lake retreat where they first fell in love.
Shmi Skywalker[]
Having a very close relationship with his mother, it broke his heart to leave her on Tatooine while he went to Coruscant to chase his dreams, and he admired her courage she showed throughout her harsh life as a slave, especially the moment he decided to leave Tatooine. Her early death when he was just 19 years old shook him causing him to have a brush with the Dark Side. Although he didn't give into the Dark Side that night largely due to hearing Qui-Gon Jinn's voice Anakin realised for the first time that he may have made a mistake in becoming a Jedi. Despite the pain of her death it made Anakin realise that he had turned away from the promises he made as a child. The promise he made to return and free her from slavery and the promise he made to help the slaves he considered to be his people.
