Don't worry, I'm not going down at least until we get to the main Rebel base!
—Lieutenant Silvoi
Amniva Silvoi was a Human male snowtrooper lieutenant in the Galactic Empire[2], part of the elite Snow Hawks unit.[1] He fought in the Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Selsor during the Galactic Civil War.[1]
Biography[]
Battle of Selsor[]
Silvoi was a snowtrooper in the Stormtrooper Corps, who at one point served with the Akuria II garrison. After the skirmish caused by the arrival of Luke Skywalker, he was one of the few survivors, and eventually joined the elite Snow Hawks unit. He came to know most other members of the unit well. In 3 ABY, he was deployed to Selsor, and took part in the final assault on the Alliance to Restore the Republic stronghold. Silvoi and his battalion stormed one of the forward Rebel bases, a guard post on the outer perimeter called Outpost Beta. They moved through the base, having an intense firefight with the defending Rebel troopers. However, Silvoi and the rest of the Snow Hawks succeeded and took minimum casualties. Afterwards, they met with the Imperial Army officer in charge of the assault, Colonel Vandalor, who informed then that they were to take part in the attack on their main base.[1]
After arriving aboard an Imperial dropship to a camp about a kilometer away from the main base, Silvoi went with Commander Kisoyt Soliger and Captain Auddo Slokay to a command building and was briefed by Major Kalima on the upcoming battle. The Snow Hawks were driven to the base inside AT-ATs while the Army troops broke apart the Rebel defensive line in a human wave attack. After reaching the base, Silvoi and the other troopers disembarked from their walker, the Striker One, and fought the remaining Rebel soldiers outside on their way to the base. The Snow Hawks made their way through the halls, killing many Rebels, before reaching the command center. There, Silvoi killed one of the Rebel commanders, Colonel Farr-Nees, an Umbaran.[1]
However, they saw a group of Army troopers enter the command center, which was odd to Silvoi since they were told in the briefing that the Snow Hawks would be the only ones sent. Adding on to the confusion, the Army troops began firing at them. Another officer, Captain Trax, told them via comlink that Major Kalimar betrayed the Empire, and was going rogue. Silvoi killed several of the enemy troopers and as the unit made their way back outside. There, Colonel Vandalor informed them of the details, and then told Silvoi that their unit was to be taken up aboard an orbiting Star Destroyer, as the 501st Legion was called in to finish off any remaining traitors and Rebels.[1]
Battle of Hoth[]
Personality and traits[]
Silvoi was friends with almost everyone in his unit, as almost everybody knew each other on a personal level. He was especially good friends with his battalion leaders, Captain Auddo Slokay and Commander Kisoyt Soliger. Silvoi was a dedicated supporter of the New Order, and believed the Empire was truly the best government for the galaxy. He was willing to die for it, knowing that he faced death nearly every day. Silvoi had a strong hatred for the Rebels and anyone else who was an enemy of the Empire, and was very aggressive and brutal in combat. He noted his coldness, but determined that it was necessary and justified when facing enemies of the Empire.[1]
At the same time, he cared about the lives of other Imperials. Silvoi was disgusted by the human wave attack that Major Kalima ordered, and remarked that it was one of the reasons he did not like the Army. Later, Silvoi noted that earlier his aspiration was to become an Imperial Army Pilot.[1]
Equipment[]
He wore standard snowtrooper armor and wielded an E-11 blaster rifle.[1]
