Amina Razia Sakaros was the youngest child of the Phoenix Prince and Sith Lord Tariun Sakaros and his wife, the Centurion Princess Breek Zagrev. She was the younger sister of Delliak and Nike Sakaros. She was given the name "Razia" as a tribute to Tariun's aunt, Razielle Ragnos.

Biography[]

Youth[]

Unlike her siblings, Amina actually had a homeworld; she was born on Telacia during the 151 ABY Consular Assembly, while her mother was Consul of Baes. She was born by an operative delivery, as hers was likely to be a breech birth otherwise. Living on Baes for the first years of her life, she became close with her mother, Breek's Royal Guards Zeth Kezzerek and Benzeel Rikos, and Breek's apprentice Jinyx Windrunner. Like her older siblings, she watched The Adventures of Fuego the Phoenix religiously. Even as a child, she loved the sensation of flying, and she was the only one of her siblings whom Jinyx felt comfortable enough to fly in her dragon form.

In 154 ABY, when Breek became a Royal Executor, Amina shifted to staying with her father until she was ready to join the Order of Keltrayu as a Novice. Tariun was indulgent of his baby girl and often took her with him even into meetings, allowing her to run around behind him with a toy starfighter while making engine noises; the Sith enjoyed not only Amina's amusement, but also putting other parties to the discussion off their game.

Novitiate[]

Born for trouble[]

You're not in trouble unless ya get caught!
—Amina Sakaros, parroting a phrase from Orion and Reia Solios

Amina made her Novice pledge in 155 ABY and immediately became beloved by many of her new siblings and the terror of her Praetor-Instructors. Although she enjoyed being with Delliak, Nike, and Delliak's best friend Terra Zaffrod, Amina quickly branched out into the Order's mentality of considering all her fellow Novices siblings as well. She had difficulty with formalities and rules, and was initially unable to take to calling her aunt "Queen Rin"; the closest she managed was "Queen Aunt Rin".

On a 156 ABY visit to Belsavis, Amina met Orion and Reia Solios. Unlike their big sister Octavia, the twins were mischievous and inventive, and they took to viewing Amina as an apprentice, teaching her several of their tricks for getting away with trouble before Tariun could get her back to the Empire.

Amina's dragons[]

Despite becoming a Novice, Amina remained very close with Jinyx, whom she took to calling "my dragon". Shortly before Amina made her Novice pledge, Jinyx saved her from attack by Rin's tuk'ata, Nightmare and Nocturne. Jinyx drilled into Amina's head that when Amina was covered by Jinyx's wings, she was safe, and Amina took the lesson deeply to heart. When Jinyx was suffering the aftereffects of Rin resurrecting her memories of the demise of Klesk, Amina enlisted her fellow Novices to help her make a Drakonus costume and went to Jinyx's room to comfort her. When a baffled Jinyx asked about the costume, she was reduced to tears when Amina clambered up onto her shoulders, draped a cloth wing over Jinyx's head, and said, "When you're here, you're safe."

Amina was Tenebrous Tynblade's first friend when he joined the Order, as well as the Novice most likely to get him in trouble. When they were both five, Tenebrous suffered broken ribs and a cracked wing, and Amina a broken arm and a mild concussion, after Amina convinced him that not only were his wings strong enough to carry him in flight, but that he could also carry Amina—the two leapt from the second floor of the Citadel's dormitories. The two fought periodically—Amina's tempestuous nature made petty frustrations into terrible calamities—but always made up, usually within a short period of time. Amina referred to him as "my other dragon", even when Jinyx was not present for the comparison.

The Order saw a spate of "dragons" entering the Order in 158 ABY; Zivkai Rasakhar and Djorii'surle'maj joined as Novices, and Zivkai brought his pet Arkanian dragon Zavka along as well. Amina was delighted, and she snuck Zavka treats whenever she could. She also took it upon herself to teach Djorii; it was from Amina that he learned his first Basic words ("HAI!" and "SURPRISE!"), and he copied Amina's habit of barreling into people to hug them, although even as a baby Duinuogwuin Djorii was capable of doing much more damage with the gesture.

Sign of things to come[]

Since early childhood Amina had loved acrobatics and tumbling; they reminded her of flying, and unlike flying they were entirely within her control. As a Novice she devoted extra practice to gymnastics, both Force-assisted and otherwise.

Amina's favorite hobby, however, was flying. As early as the age of seven she was allowed to train on the Order's flight simulators, and while still a child she was able to safely take off and land her simulated craft. She began studying elementary mechanics while still a girl as well.

Apart from her passions and other things she enjoyed, such as lightsaber combat, Amina proved at best a passable student. Most of her Praetors (and educator droids which tested her) considered her reasonably intelligent; she simply could not be bothered to care about things she found boring.

Powers and abilities[]

From an early age, Amina demonstrated a gift for Force-based acrobatics. As early as age five, she could consistently leap high enough to catapult herself into an adult's arms—a skill she perfected with her parents and Jinyx Windrunner. She was highly resistant to motion sickness and disorientation, which in youth allowed her to enjoy riding on Jinyx while the Drakonus flew her around, and later made her a natural pilot.

Appearance and personality[]

Amina had her mother's brown hair, though it was straight like her father's, and brown eyes which matched the shade of her hair almost exactly. She had freckles across her nose and cheeks, and a dark olive complexion like her brother Delliak.

Tariun Sakaros: “Inside voice, Amina.
Amina Sakaros: “But we're outside!
Tariun Sakaros: “Your inside voice is everyone else's outside voice.

— Tariun and Amina on Belsavis in 156 ABY

As a young girl, Amina was outgoing, spontaneous, loud, and stubborn. Her friends and family considered her astonishingly energetic. She was very openly affectionate toward those she loved, including her biological family, Jinyx Windrunner, her parents' coterie of Royal Guards, and eventually her fellow Novices and Centurions.

Behind the scenes[]

Amina is named for Amina and Razia Sultana, Muslim warrior queens.
