Master, it's finished.
—Torfane Nijora
The Alpha Saber was a rare lightsaber, constructed from a blueprint belonging to the ancient Order of Arrack. The settlement of this order was stationed within the Joreki quadrant on the neighboring moon of the planet Krynore. It was at this settlement following the events of Order 66 and during the Great Jedi Purge that the Alpha Saber was built; created by two Jedi. Padawan Torfane Nijora and Master Kentell Leknar created the unique lightsaber whilst preparing for an impending Imperial-led attack. The saber’s alloy, focus crystals and power supply were all native minerals which were found beneath the planet Krynore's surface. Accompanied with the aligned fighting form “Zenite”, the Alpha Saber was regarded by its creators as a dominant and exceptionally powerful weapon. After its completion, the Alpha Saber was used by Torfane Nijora against an attack from the Sith Lord Darth Vader and a select few of the 501st legion. Although the two Jedi were eventually overpowered and struck down by the Sith, Nijora, wielding the Alpha Saber, severed Vader’s entire left arm. After the battle had taken place, the Alpha Saber was left behind on the Krynore moon.
Characteristics[]
The Alpha Saber was an adaptation of a lightsaber belonging to the ancient Order of Arrack. The only distinguishable characteristics were a small number of alterations, both internal and external. These were: a removable Krynidium power cell, mainframe interface socket and a Jeweliam emitter shroud that was taken from one of the Jedi, Torfane Nijora’s lightsabers. Although a small fraction of the internal components were salvaged from another saber, almost all of its core electronic design had been completely replicated from the original schematic. The appearance of the energy beam was unique to this lightsaber (including the Order of Arrack lightsaber), as it produced a much broader shaft of light then other sabers; emulating a distinctive dense bronze glow. Upon ignition and throughout the duration of the saber's use, the beam would appear highly unstable; cracking with waves of plasmatic spark. Due to the huge amount of energy that would course through the blade, thrusts cast even at half strength were known to knock opposing Force users and their sabers off balance. The power output of the saber was said to have been vastly superior to other lightsabers due to the mineral power source, Krynidium. One aspect of its power was said to have been exhibited when held against an opposing blade for a prolonged period; the Alpha Saber would trigger the opponent’s to overload, disabling their crystals energy fluctuation, resulting in the momentary short to their energy beam.
History[]
Tumultuous beginning[]
The Alpha Saber's beginnings were set against the backdrop of a tumultuous epoch in the galaxy’s history; the conclusion of Order 66 and the commencement of the Great Jedi Purge.
Torfane Nijora[]
…you have been through a great deal, young Torfane. Still you strive to maintain your focus and duty. A commendable spirit resides in you.
—Master Jedi Kentell Leknar
Torfane Nijora was a Jedi Padawan who, having been taken prisoner by the Galactic Empire was being held captive aboard an Imperial Star Destroyer; the Star Destroyer had been orbiting the Mid Rim planet of Koaan. The Padawan had previously been on a mission, during which he experienced the outcome of Order 66 first hand by way of his master’s murder; gunned down by the very clones that had served under them. Though his master became a causality of the military strike, Nijora was not to meet the same fate; taken alive by his one time comrades. While imprisoned aboard the Star Destroyer deep within a concealed science compartment, Nijora was heavily sedated and confined to a crio-capsule; unable to move and commune with the Force effectively. When science officers along with medical droids were administrating stimulants to trigger Nijora’s brain function, an overdose was given; causing the Jedi to fit uncontrollably. Bursting through the capsule’s confines, Nijora threw all observers across the room; rendering them lifeless. After the effects of sedation had partially worn off, the Jedi collected his possessions and cautiously sort out for means of escape. Determined to leave the ship, Nijora found and barricaded himself into an escape pod in hope of making a speedy exit; yet due to an altercation with patrolling troopers, Nijora damaged the pods navigation systems. The Jedi was faced with a choice, either perish where he stood or take his chance in the void of space. Nijora sealed the hatch shut and upon ejection was left hurtling through the atmosphere of Koaan below.
Kentell Leknar[]
Kentell Leknar was a Jedi Master who, having so far escaped the Empire’s clutches, was in exile on the planet Koaan. Leknar had previously survived an Imperial attack on a group of Jedi who had been staging an uprising during The Great Jedi Purge. The desperate Jedi were within the final stages of a planned assault when they were discovered and destroyed. Leknar spent subsequent years evading Imperial entanglement by continually stowing away on cargo ships and freighters. She eventually found her way into the interior of a solitary planet known as Koaan. There, she befriended a nomadic archaeologist by the name of Mammon Hoole. During Leknar’s exile, the Empire made increased visitations to the planet, though her presence went unnoticed. However, the concealment of her identity was eventually revealed when Leknar was alerted to the Padawan Nijora’s presence on the planet.

Skirmish on Koaan[]
Witnessing a skirmish involving two shadow troopers and the young Padawan, Leknar came to the Jedi Nijora’s aid, and after a brief exchange of fire, the two Jedi were victorious. Aware that their presence and location was now known, the Jedi, with the help of Mammon Hoole, acquired a starship and fled the planet.
Pursuing a vision[]
Believing that the Force was somehow guiding them, Nijora and Leknar journeyed deep into the Joreki quadrant in search of an ancient outpost supposedly only known by a select group of Jedi. Leknar had previously seen this outpost in multiple visions which she had experienced while in her exile on Koaan.
Arrack outpost[]
Stationed on the neighboring moon of the planet Krynore, Master Leknar and Padawan Nijora found the sacred sight of “Arrack”. The ancient outpost appearing to have been deserted for many years,

The Krynore moon
outwardly untouched and covered with native vegetation. The moon itself was said to have been a partial wasteland, seemingly devoid of any life; what appeared to make up the majority of the moon's surface were numerous dune seas scattered with pockets of dense shrubbery.
Despite preparation which was made relating to the believed imminent Imperial attack, the Jedi also spent much time probing the outpost’s interior. Leknar and Nijora uncovered and studied the outpost’s relics as well as gaining access to the Order’s mainframe; which they believed bore a remarkable resemblance to the Jedi Council’s archives. The Arrack teachings and traditions which were examined by the two Jedi formed a lasting impression; in time, the Jedi made a partial conversion toward the Arrackian belief system. While at the outpost, the Jedi made many discoveries, some of which being intricate cultural practices of meditation and self-defense. One such practice was a fighting form known within the Arrack culture as Zenite. The form, although appearing much slower than that of other forms within the Jedi array of practiced stances, was regarded by the two Jedi as extremely efficient and focused. The Zenite form was also accompanied by the use of a unique lightsaber.
Construction of the Alpha Saber[]
Following the discovery of blueprints depicting a distinctive lightsaber the two Jedi had found within the outposts archives, they ventured to the planet Krynore in search of the needed components for which to build the device. One of the components required was a mineral known as Krynidium; this was to be used as a main power source. Once the mineral was found, located within underground caverns, the Jedi forged a two part power cell, an internal and an external removable supply. The external supply was made detachable due to the mineral’s weight, Krynidium being quite heavy; this alteration

The completed Alpha saber
gave the saber more versatility. When the external Krynidium was attached, the power output, weight and movement were virtually identical to the ancient Arrackian design. A strong and adaptable alloy that had been found within the same underground caverns was also used for the hilt. A portion of internal machinery was taken from one of Nijora's duel sabers and two focus crystals native to the planet were also used. The physical energy beam which emitted from the saber was regarded by the two Jedi as exceptionally powerful compared to that of a regular lightsaber, displaying a broad width which formed a distinctive bronze glow.
Defensive measures[]
During their time at the Arrack outpost, the Jedi became in need of developing defensive measures to counteract the impending Imperial forces. As it was believed that the outpost had no visible external protection, the Jedi were required to explore the Order's archives in search for anything that could be used as suitable methods of defence. During their search, they discovered information relating to a type of plant species named "Charnnar", which supposedly inhabited the surrounding area. From the historical documents that were available, it was uncovered that the species had resided beneath and around the outpost for thousands of years; having incremental hibernation periods of up to two hundred years. The creature had their own physical defences which consisted of long thick tentacles, capable of crushing hardened limestone, and poisonous glands that would cause paralysis upon contact. The sentient flora also had underground burrowing catacombs which led into individual nesting sites. The Jedi learned that the Arrack Order had found a way of controlling these creatures, having been found by the Jedi to have been in a forced state of hibernation. It seemed the Arrack Order had actually enforced this artificial hibernation by means of implementing a cocktail of noxious gases. Although the Charnnar had previously been anesthetized, they were brought out of their docile state by the two Jedi as a strategic measure. Once this decision was made, it was believed that the Jedi never ventured outside the confines of the Outpost.
As the Jedi discovered more of the Order's history, they became aware of a secret enclosure, located six levels below the surface. It was believed to have been a type of meditation chamber. Enclosed within thick stone walls, the chamber was said to have created an insulating affect on Force energies. Once inside the chamber, the Jedi were shielded from outside disturbances and movements in the Force; while their presence would remain hidden from those on the outside. The chamber also contained a type of port array transmission technology in the form of circular disks which, upon activation via a DNA signature, were capable of instant transportation throughout the outpost's interior and exterior.
Completion of the Alpha Saber[]
Though the Alpha Saber was constructed by both Jedi, it was eventually given to Torfane Nijora. This was a tradition shared amongst the Arrack Order; where as a small communal group of Jedi (those who had mentored the Padawan from Initiate) would contribute in the Sabers construction.

Nijora dressed in an Arrack tunic with ceremonial robe, presenting the completed Alpha saber to Master Leknar upon his coronation as a Knight of Arrack
When the lightsaber was complete, it was given to the Padawan upon attaining the rank of "Knight of Arrack". When the Alpha Saber was complete, Nijora presented it to his master Kentell Leknar, who in turn began the coronation from Padawan to Knight and returned the saber to him. It was believed that Nijora abandoned his previous fighting form choosing instead to immerse himself in the cultural teachings and fighting form of the Arrack Order.
Vader’s arrival[]
Following the Alpha Saber's construction, the moment the Jedi had been preparing for had finally come: The Empire's arrival. After an Imperial shuttle was detected, Leknar and Nijora fled the upper levels, venturing far below the surface to the outposts meditation chamber.
The Sith lord Darth Vader was in command of the attack, accompanied by a squadron of his elite personal guards. As Vader and a select few of the “501st legion” touched down on the moon's surface, they proceeded to move ahead and find covering; to locate an observation point of the outpost. Vader himself kept a slight distance, puzzled by a disturbance he had sensed in the Force. As a group of troops were alerted to movement in nearby foliage, they were suddenly bound and dragged away by the now awakened Charnnar. Having no alternative, Vader pressed on toward the outpost.
Some of the troops that had not been either taken or left paralyzed by the lethal vines advanced on speeders bikes; deploying thermal detonators as they sped through the dense shrubbery. Vader was brought to the ground several times by the creature’s tentacles, yet he managed to keep them at bay; commanding the Force and his lightsaber, the Sith carved through the enemy, hurling its tendrils into the undergrowth.
Vader’s findings[]
Upon his arrival to the outpost’s entry point, Vader was accompanied by only twelve remaining troopers; this was said to have been a huge blow to the notorious and highly regarded “Vader’s fist”. Although few in number, the troops left remained loyal and as focused as ever, awaiting their master’s orders. Sensing no immediate danger lying within the outpost, Vader and his troops proceeded to enter. At this point, Vader again experienced more Force disturbances, he could dimly sense the two Jedi, and his ability was progressively growing fainter. In an attempt to gain more technical access of their surroundings, some of the troopers tried overriding the outpost's interface, though they were only capable of obtaining basic information. Vader, being familiar with the Jedi achieves, did not take long to bypass the mainframe’s security system and have near complete access to the outpost's functions and archives. It was during his study of the archives that Vader acquired more detail on the vine type creature known as Charnnar. It was discovered that the Charnnar were a Force-sensitive species, and the very thing responsible for Vader's inability to sense the two Jedi. The Charnnar had means of feeding upon the Living Force while in a frenzied hunting state; making communion with the Force nearly impossible for Force sensitives in the vicinity. Using the computer's reference charts, Vader swiftly located many of the creature's nesting sites and gave orders for his ship to bombard them with proton bombs. As the order was given, seemingly appearing from nowhere, Vader was ambushed and attacked by the Jedi Master Kentell Leknar.
Jedi and Sith[]
Soon you will be dead... bringing the complete annihilation of the Jedi one step closer.
—Darth Vader while Force choking Jedi Master Kentell Leknar
Having transported herself from the meditation chamber after sensing Vader’s plan, (the meditation chamber being impervious to the confusion brought on by the active Charnnar) Leknar leapt onto Vader. Using the Force, she briefly immobilized the Sith Lord while pulling five troopers towards a port array disc; transmitting them outside, into the oncoming barrage of proton bombs. As the seven remaining troopers broke off in search of the unaccounted Jedi, Vader and Leknar continued to duel. Leknar’s fighting technique proved initially difficult for Vader, but he was soon to adapted. The two fought feverishly, matching each blow. In an attempt to pin Vader against a nearby power conduit, Leknar fastened her lightsaber firmly against the Sith’s; the two blades becoming momentarily immovable. Using sheer power, Vader soon broke free from the Jedi’s lock and began to Force choke his adversary. Vader informed Leknar that she would soon die, an action which would bring him one step closer to eradicating the Jedi Order completely. However, the Jedi managed to free herself from Vader’s grasp with a focused Force repulse, resulting in Vader being thrown against an atmospheric control monitor. The Jedi having bought some time, accessed a port array disc; transmitting herself to the meditation chamber.
Alpha Saber’s unveiling[]
501st clone trooper: “Jedi scum! I’d rather die at the hand of my master than submit to you!”
―Torfane Nijora speaking with a captured clone trooper
While scouting the living quarters on the outpost's fifth level, Nijora was confronted by three of Vader’s elite, who immediately began flanking to varying locations. Almost without thought, Torfane Nijora at once ignited the Alpha Saber and lunged toward the nearest trooper. As the trooper hurried to find cover behind a hallway entrance, the soldier shot off a frantic burst of laser fire toward the looming Jedi. However, upon making contact with the blade, the ammunition was not repelled, but instead disintegrated. In one sharp blow, Nijora swung the thick blade through one end of the hallway barrier and out the other, resulting in the trooper’s decapitation. Directly after this encounter, Nijora was shot in his left shoulder, which momentarily threw him to the floor. Once composed, Nijora identified the culprit, and Force pushed the approaching clone down a corridor while at the same time tossing his lightsaber toward a sniper in hiding; impaling the trooper. Once again in pursuit, the now unarmed trooper having just been repelled was at his feet and running toward Nijora. The Jedi imminently commanded his lightsaber into his hand and used the Force to levitate and restrain his opponent. As the trooper was suspended, Nijora ordered him to surrender; the clone, however, remained steadfast in his objective, refusing to give in. In an attempt on the Jedi’s life, the trooper reached for a small blaster concealed under his chest plate, but had no time to execute. Nijora, reacting instantly, struck the soldier down.
Preparation[]
In the meditation chamber, Master Leknar drew upon the Force for wisdom. She was now aware that the majority of nesting sites along with the Charnnar had been obliterated; meaning Vader’s connection to the Force had been reestablished.
Realizing a much sooner confrontation with Vader was unavoidable, Leknar spoke to the young Jedi Nijora through the Force, and the two headed for the upper level observation deck. Plotting to take advantage of the Sith's dependence on his artificial ventilator, the Jedi planned to use the outposts environmental generator as a way of suffocating the Sith Lord.
Confrontation with Vader[]
Darth Vader: “The Jedi are a faded ideal, treacherous and unworthy of commanding the Force. Killing you both will do the Empire a great justice.”
Kentell Leknar: “Treacherous? The dark side clouds your mind, Vader. You still fail to see through the Emperor's lies!”
Darth Vader: “You dare instruct me, Jedi? I have already seen through the lies!”
— Darth Vader confronts the two Jedi
Upon arriving at the observation deck, the two Jedi’s brief exchange was immediately interrupted by the heavy sound of breathing apparatus; Vader had been waiting for them. Igniting his lightsaber, Vader emerged from the shadows and confronted them. Addressing the Jedi, he informed the two that they followed a faded ideal, describing the Jedi Order as treacherous and unworthy of the Force; he then stated that their deaths would be doing a justice to the Empire. Kentell, although disagreeing with some of the Jedi’s doctrinal beliefs, rebuked Vader, telling him that his mind was still clouded, unable to see through the Emperor’s lies. Vader scolded the Jedi, telling her to not dare try instructing him. He paused briefly, and then in a fit of anger assured them he had already seen through the lies. At that moment, Vader brought down several large temperature regulators from the surrounding walls and threw them at the Jedi. In trying to evade the flying debris, Torfane was struck and briefly knocked unconscious; Kentell, however, managed to suspend one of the containers in mid-flight. Struggling for a short time maintaining her concentration and mental grasp, she eventually triumphed; sending the object hurtling back towards Vader. The Sith Lord became pinned amongst the wreckage; which gave the Jedi time to regroup. Enraged, Vader managed to clutch his lightsaber and carve his way through the twisted metal. Leknar was assisting a dazed Nijora to his feet, when the two were again alerted to Vader. With his blade drawn, Vader immediately began to attack Leknar. Before Nijora could reach for his lightsaber in defense of his master, Vader lifted the young Knight; throwing him across the room. Vader then focused his assault on Leknar; the Master barely able to fend off the drive of the Sith's saber and having little opportunity to counter-attack. Using the Force to propel her from the wall behind, Leknar flung herself into Vader’s path; catapulting them both in different directions. Once off the floor Leknar focused on exploiting Vader’s one weakness, dexterity. The Jedi wasted no time. Charging at the Sith with lightsaber in hand, she began darting around the Dark Lord; making several lacerations to his body. Despite his wounds and inability to compete with the Jedi’s speed, Vader maintained a casual and unwearied demeanor, waiting for the right moment to seize. Then, in an instant, as Leknar sprang out from behind him, Vader took hold; levitating the Jedi. Using the Force, he crushed her right hand, along with her saber inside. With the Jedi now suspended in front of him, Vader drove his blade through her upper chest, and informed the master of her imminent death.
Knight vs. Sith[]
Vader: “ Embrace your anger Jedi, only then will you succeed in striking me down, without it you are already dead.”
― Darth Vader taunts Torfane Nijora whilst in combat
Preparing to dispense of the injured Jedi, Vader withdrew the saber motioning for another impale. Before the Sith could strike, however, Nijora sprang suddenly to his master’s defense; knocking the Sith's lightsaber out from his hand. With Vader exposed, Nijora quickly drew the Alpha Saber and ignited the blade. The power of the saber was said to have coursed intensely through the shaft of light, humming and cracking with electric discharge. Pointing the end of the blade towards Vader’s chest, Nijora closed in, forcing Vader back toward the room’s environmental controls. Nijora swung the blade, though Vader managed to barely weave out of the beam’s path. The Jedi swung the blade again, this time connecting with the Sith and severing off one half of Vader’s helmet, while at the same time taking out the entire control panel. As Nijora came at him once more, Vader reached out with the Force, pulling a supply crate toward the Jedi. Nijora at once turned and struck the crate, slicing it clean in two. Seizing the brief opportunity, Vader called his lightsaber into his hand and reengaged Nijora. With every strike that came from the Jedi, the Sith's ability to defend was made increasingly harder. Upon connecting with Vader’s blade, the power of the Alpha Saber continually threw the Sith off-balance. It became nearly impossible for Vader to effectively attack, and he was forced to repeatedly alter techniques. The only way Vader was to retain a position in the contest was by making as brief contact with the Jedi’s blade as possible; minimizing any prolonged exposure.
As the conflict raged, the Jedi’s desperate fight to maintain the upper hand was showing signs of weakness and fatigue. Nijora was well aware that Vader’s ability to command the Force was vastly superior to his own, determined that his only hope at finishing the Sith lay within the weapon he held in his hands. Ninjora felt that he might have succeeded so long as he maintained control of the lightsaber duel.
Vader’s attempt to maintain a steady defensive posture proved beneficial for a period of time. However, it was unable to be maintained, as the Jedi kept dealing blow after blow. As Vader deflected one of the young Knight’s oncoming thrusts, he placed himself off to the side of the Jedi. Observing that the Jedi’s fighting form was a more slowly calculated movement; Vader thought he could make an attempt to wound the Jedi at mid range and disable him. He was mistaken, however, as Nijora, having sensed Vader’s movement, continued his initial swing, bringing it full thrust towards Vader. Making contact with his lightsaber, Vader was thrown to his knees. Using his other hand, Vader propelled a concentration of Force energy at his opponent. Nijora instinctively attempted to deflect the energy blast; yet was incapable of repelling the entire projection. As Vader rose from the ground, he began to lift his right arm, intending to Force choke his rival. Nijora, however, much to the Sith Lord’s surprise, regained his footing and threw himself back onto Vader. In defense, Vader instinctively brought his saber around to his front as to block the Jedi’s attack. Crashing their sabers together, the pressure forced Vader down and he struggled to maintain grip. Nijora screamed at Vader, telling him that he would pay for what he had done to his master and all the other Jedi he had murdered. Vader in turn taunted the young Jedi, stating he would never succeed in defeating him because of his lack of desire to embrace his hatred. Then, with the sound of something like that of a fuse blowing, the crimson glow of Vader’s lightsaber was silenced. The prolonged contact with the Alpha Saber had caused Vader’s to short, allowing the prevailing beam of the Jedi to maintain its line of direction. In an instant, Vader’s right arm was completely severed from his body, falling to the ground with the hilt of his saber still clutched in hand. Shocked and weakened by the injury, Vader stumbled slightly then attempted to take hold of the Jedi once more. Nijora suppressed Vader’s effort and sent him flying into a near by wall.
Kentell’s vision[]
Please help me, I’m lost… I can’t find my way out of this place
—an apparition of a younger Anakin Skywalker pleads for Leknar’s help
As Leknar laid semi unconscious on the ground, she slipped into a trance, awakening within the Jedi Temple’s Council Chambers. Initially empty, the chamber was instantly filled with numerous fatally wounded Jedi who in unison began crying out loud. Initially, Leknar was incapable of understanding their screams.
As the screams became clearer, Leknar deciphered the Jedi’s words, which were not in fact cries for help at all, instead being redemptive pleas for their attacker. As each Jedi appeared before her, they would bring with them visual imagery of their last moments before death. Kentell found the images overwhelming; every Jedi’s final moments appearing to culminate around the same violent event. The Jedi were seen desperately fending off a robed individual before being slain by his lightsaber. It was now obvious to Leknar that the event was none other than the massacre that had taken place within the Jedi Temple around the time Order 66 was first issued. Although it was known that Leknar had not witnessed this event first-hand, being on a reconnaissance mission within the Terbia-maze system, she had heard of the incident through rumors amongst other Jedi, including the identity of the one responsible for the deeds. Within the remnant of the scattered Jedi, there were those who maintained the opinion that the attacker was Chancellor Palpatine’s unidentified apprentice, Darth Vader.
While the images of the slaughter continued before her, Kentell became fixed on the robed offender. As the figure became increasingly clearer into view, it suddenly turned. The individual, whose appearance had initially eluded the Jedi, gradually became recognizable as being a small boy; visibly upset as he struggled to find his way out of an oversized robe. Leknar approached the boy, comforting him and eventually asking him what was wrong. The boy gazed up at Leknar, eyes wide with tears. He told her that he was lost and unable to escape from where he was. As Leknar continued to observe the boy, his life began to manifest before her, his childhood his adulthood, and his knighthood. This child had been Anakin Skywalker. The boy who stood before Leknar had now morphed into the familiar guise of Darth Vader. Facing the Jedi, the Sith reached upward and began removing his helmet. As the headpiece came away from his face, darkness instantly covered the room, leaving nothing but silence. Out of the darkness a familiar voice began to speak; it was an old friend, Jedi Master Qui-Gon-Gin. The voice spoke to Leknar revealing that although the choices Anakin had made led him down a dark path, to which he believed there was no escape, he could still be free; he simply had not allowed his mind to realize it. He could still bring balance. The voice, was then gone, and instantly Kentell was thrown back into consciousness.
Death and revelation[]
Having Vader pinned against a wall with the Alpha Saber aimed directly towards him Nijora appeared a mere moment away from dealing the final blow. As Nijora swung the blade back, a cry rang out from behind him. It was his Master. Leknar shouted at Nijora to stop, her screams seemingly pleading something concerning redemption. Her cries however were drowned out. As Nijora paused, bewildered by what he was hearing, a numbing sensation shot throughout his entire body. Looking down, the Jedi could see the Sith's blade protruding out from his chest; Vader had used the Force to obtain and levitate the lightsaber from his severed arm, driving it into the back of the unsuspecting Jedi. Looking intently at Vader, then slowly peering back towards his master, Nijora fell crashing to the floor.
Seeing her old Padawan and friend lying dead before her, slain at the hand of Vader Leknar felt saddened and conflicted; experiencing a sense of failure and guilt. Amidst her grief Leknar also fought with the reality of Vader’s true persona; that somehow he was the hope the ancient prophecy had spoken of. Vader significantly injured, stood to his feet and upon collecting both lightsabers from under the motionless Knight, moved towards Leknar. Incapable of using both her legs and right arm, Leknar made no attempt to flee, appearing to have reached an acceptancxe of her impending fate. With no words, only the wheezing from his damaged ventilators, Vader ignited the Alpha Saber. At that moment Leknar, peering through Vader’s helmet gently spoke the name, Anakin. She continued to speak to Vader, telling him that he could be freed, bringing balance to himself and the Force. Vader momentarily halted, then, as if desiring to silence what the Jedi’s words had produced in him, the Sith Lord struck the Jedi down. Looking at the Jedi’s face Vader extinguished the bronze beam and released his grip, with the Alpha Saber falling to the ground; landing beside the deceased Jedi Master.
After locating his shuttle Vader left the outpost. Amid his journey back to Coruscant the Dark Lord was said to have taken complete control of his ship, killing all aboard. When reaching his destination Vader informed the Emperor of the Jedi's demise including for reasons unknown the falsehood of the Outpost’s destruction.
Behind the scenes[]
The Alpha Saber was a creation by the Fanon wiki user Corron Zenith in 2008-2009. The physical replica which motivated the Fanon article was originally a hardware prop/ornamental lightsaber that was designed and made by the author after being inspired by the many individuals who had documented their attempts to build prop and LED saber’s over the web.
After reading and being encouraged by the back story to the LED FX saber “Killer Penny” the author went about creating a narrative for his lightsaber conception. The author began first with main characters; working his way from their individual story arch’s which eventually would intertwine with the creation of the unique saber. The end result seemingly revealing the Alpha Saber itself playing a small or unimportant role in scheme of the entire plot; though small in content the Alpha Saber may have appeared, the author feels that its involvement was powerfully symbolic and to some extent subtly central.
The name "Alpha saber" came about due to fact that originally the lightsaber was to be the only one of its kind. As the story progressed the Alpha Saber's uniqueness changed slightly, technically becoming a custom made lightsaber whose template was the blueprint of a previously existing though somewhat rare lightsaber.
