Alpha Red was built in the Clone Wars as a communications center, military base, and scanning station for Coruscant. All records of it were erased when Nephill Kilner went rogue. The base was then used as a fallback position for the Republic Remnant, along as the central communications center. Other asteroids nearby were laden with sensory equipment, hypertransceivers, and smaller scouting bases.
Construction and features[]
Built by Eledino Engineering Company, Alpha Red featured dozens of turbolaser and point defense batteries, planetary shield, docking bay big enough for at least one Venator-class Star Destroyer, medical bay, and numerous blast doors. One fault in the construction resulted in a large colony of space slugs attracted to poorly located power generators. Alpha Red could hold up to 500,000 people, including on colonized asteroids nearby.
