Allaya Lokka was a Force-sensitive Rutian Twi'lek female soldier in the Rebel Alliance and New Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Born in 20 BBY on the Outer Rim planet Quadan VI, Allaya's parents were killed when the planet was sieged during the Clone Wars. She eventually ended up in the hands of slavers, but was rescued in 18 BBY by the Lagobah rebel cell and became the adopted daughter of Jedi Padawan Jedaana Lokka, who began to train her in the ways of the Force on Lagobah after sensing that Allaya was Force-sensitive.

Three years later however, Jedaana was presumably killed during the Battle of Yoivasca, so Allaya Lokka was raised by Yosip Zagoonga, who could not teach her to become a Jedi but did plan on her being a skilled fighter. Several years later, Zagoonga realized that she was very accurate with blaster and that Allaya could make an exceptional sharpshooter. When Allaya Lokka was only 16 she received an NT-242 sniper rifle, one of the galaxy's most powerful sniper rifles. Despite her specializing as a sniper, Allaya became the best overall fighter in the Lagobah rebel cell.

In 1 BBY, the Lagobah base was attacked by the Empire after they discovered their location. Lokka aggressively fought off the attackers, but none of the Lagobah cell was able to escape and Allaya was captured and sold as a slave to Naffo the Hutt on the swamp planet Saalok. There, Lokka was forced to be a dancer but also befriended fellow slave Maree Berik.

The two managed to escape shortly after the Battle of Yavin to join the 43rd Infantry of the Alliance Army, where Allaya reunited with Yosip Zagoonga. Lokka quickly proved to be the 43rd's most valuable sniper, fighting in numerous battles where she killed hundreds of Imperials and provided critical reconnaissance information. Allaya Lokka later continued to serve in the New Republic army and retired shortly after the end of the war.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Allaya Lokka was born on the planet Quadan VI of the Outer Rim Territories in 20 BBY, during the Clone Wars. She had no memory of her parents and her original last name was unknown, although both of her parents were civilian casualties during the Siege of Quadan VI in 19 BBY. The battle involved Jedi Padawan Jedaana Lokka as well as Separatist General Yosip Zagoonga, whom would both later become important people in her life.

Allaya survived the battle and was brought to a camp on the planet set up by the Galactic Empire after the battle for the hundreds of thousands displaced. The conditions were very poor however, and in 18 BBY, Zygerrian slavers arrived and kidnapped a few dozen refugees, including Allaya. Despite her age, female Twi'leks were highly desirable in the slave market and she could sell for a high price in a few years.

Lagobah rebel cell[]

Rescued from slavery[]

Shortly after, Allaya and the other slaves were being transported in the Zygerrian slavers' YV-865 Aurore-class freighter. They happened to stop in the Lagobah system after experiencing some minor issues with their hyperdrive. The system was believed to be uninhabited but it was actually home to the Lagobah rebel cell, who had detected the freighter with their scanners and went to investigate it. Yosip Zagoonga and Jedaana Lokka, the two former enemies that created the resistance movement, went there with the Magma Raider and asked the vessel to identify itself. After receiving no reply, they engaged the Zygerrian ship and were quickly able to disable it and board. Onboard, Allaya and her fellow slaves were being held hostage by the Zygerrians, although Jedaana Lokka was able to disarm them, allowing the slaves to rise up and kill their enslavers.

Jedaana sensed that someone in the small crowd of slaves was Force-sensitive. The Jedi soon discovered that it was Allaya, and since she had no family or anyone else to go to, Jedaana adopted the girl as her daughter despite the Jedi Order rules against attachments, giving her the Lokka surname.

Training under Jedaana Lokka[]

Allaya Lokka was brought to the base on Lagobah, which became her new home, and she was introduced to all the people and droids there. Over the next three years, Allaya was trained by her adoptive mother in the ways of the Force. Although Allaya was not as strong in the Force as most Jedi, she did have naturally fast reflexes because of the Force and Jedaana was able to eventually train Allaya to use some Force powers in a limited extent, such as telekenisis.

In 15 BBY, most of the Lagobah rebel cell, including Jedaana Lokka, went to Yoivasca to assist Gilan Kirkaag's fleet and inflict significant damage to the Imperial Navy, while Allaya was left at the base as she was only five years old with a few droids that were entrusted to watch over her. During the Battle of Yoivasca, Jedaana infiltrated the Imperial superweapon Calamity and destroyed it, although she was presumed to not make it off before the ship exploded. While Jedaana had actually survived, she was not planning to come back because she believed that she would put everyone at risk, especially her daughter as she was Force-sensitive and could be killed by the Inquisitorius or worse. Everyone in the Lagobah cell assumed that Jedaana had died however, and Yosip Zagoonga delivered the difficult news to Allaya.

Training under Yosip Zagoonga[]

As Jedaana Lokka was gone, Yosip Zagoonga assumed the responsibility of raising her adopted daughter Allaya. Although Zagoonga could never teach Allaya to become a Jedi and he could not willingly access the Force, he did believe that Allaya had great potential due to her natural advantages with the Force. In the next decade, Lokka was trained in melee and ranged combat by Yosip Zagoonga, who became impressed by her skill. She was also academically educated by Zagoonga and others.

Yosip Zagoonga eventually discovered that Allaya was very accurate with a blaster, and that combined with her agility and patience, she would make an excellent sniper. For her 16th birthday in 4 BBY, Lokka received an NT-242 sniper rifle, often considered to be one of the galaxy's finest sniper rifles. It fired dangerously powerful shots and had an effective range of one kilometer. Allaya acquired large quantities of locally-sourced meat using the NT-242, which was greatly appreciated by the rest of the Lagobah rebels as they had to make fewer trips for food.

Attack on Lagobah[]

In 1 BBY, the Empire finally discovered the Lagobah rebel cell, and the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Suppressor commanded by Captain Brenic Valhawk arrived to destroy them. The rebels were protected by orbital bombardment by the base's deflector shield, so Imperial walkers and stormtroopers landed near the base and began a ground assault. Allaya Lokka began targeting Imperials as soon as they landed and was able to kill many of them, but as the Imperial forces moved closer there was so much fie coming at all the rebels that they were forced to get away from the windows. The Imperials then melted the base's door with intense laser fire, allowing stormtroopers to pour into the Lagobah base. Allaya Lokka and the rebels defended as best as they could, but the stormtrooper numbers were overwhelming and the Lagobah rebels died one by one. Soon, only Lokka and Zagoonga remained. They reluctantly surrendered to Captain Valhawk, who decided not to execute them or send them to prison but to make them miserably suffer for the rest of their lives instead.

Slave dancer[]

As Allaya Lokka was a young female Twi'lek with ideal proportions and very good health, she was highly desirable on the slave market, so Captain Valhawk sold her for 30,000 credits to the Hutt crime lord Naffo Besadii Jolp. She was abused on her way to the swamp planet Saalok in Hutt Space, and when Lokka arrived at Naffo the Hutt's palace she was forced to wear a dancing-girl costume that revealed most of her body. Initially unbeknownst to Allaya, her NT-242 was also transported to the palace and put into a weapons collection.

During her time at Naffo the Hutt's palace, Lokka was forced to perform dances to entertain her owner and others at the palace. Despite being Naffo the Hutt's most prized slave, she was treated very poorly with a tiny sleeping quarters, little rest time, and meager portions of food that was often garbage or hardly edible. Lokka attempted to resist this treatment at first but was punished by a severe beating, so she decided to remain obedient for her sake. Allaya Lokka also befriended Maree Berik, a human who was also a dancer at the palace, first being enslaved there at only a few years old.

About fifteen standard months after the Battle of Lagobah and Lokka's enslavement, she overheard bounty hunters discussing a major victory that the Alliance to Restore the Republic had supposedly won against the Empire. Thinking about how she was raised to fight for freedom in the galaxy and how she needed to save Yosip Zagoonga if he was still alive, Lokka became determined to escape her situation. Although Maree Berik was highly skeptical of this at first, believing escape was impossible and knowing the palace as her only home, she eventually agreed.

A few days later, Allaya Lokka succeeded in getting many other slaves at the palace to participate in the revolt. The slave revolt then occurred on a planned date, with all enslaved people at Naffo the Hutt's palace attacking their masters. They went to the armory of the palace and grabbed weapons, which is where Lokka rediscovered her NT-242. In the ensuing fight numerous slaves and guards were killed, but Naffo the Hutt survived. Allaya and Maree escaped to the outside, and stole a Pongeeta-class speeder. They used the speeder to travel to the city of Kal Saja, where they then planned to get transportation off-world.

Personality and traits[]

Allaya Lokka was a Rutian, or blue-skinned, female Twi'lek. She stood at an average height of 1.7 meters and weighed sixty kilograms, having a slightly slender build but still being physically strong, a necessary trait for the heavy sniper rifle she carried. Lokka was brave, loyal, respectful, and kind-hearted, qualities which her adoptive mother helped pass on to her. For people close to her such as Yosip Zagoonga, Allaya would have concern and love for them, often putting their needs and lives above her own. Lokka held higher moral values than most people in the galaxy but still killed hundreds of people during her life because she believed that they had chosen the side of oppression and that through her work she was helping to bring down the Empire, thus ending its tyranny and hopefully improving or saving the lives of many people.

Skills and abilities[]

Allaya Lokka held a high level of Force-sensitivity, and Jedaana believed that with training Allaya could become a Jedi. While this dream never happened due to Jedaana's fate and Allaya could only briefly use the Force consciously during her training, Allaya's Force-sensitivity still gave her a significant advantage on the battlefield, allowing her to have better reflexes and aim as well as being able to subconsciously anticipate events before they happened.

Due to her patience and sharp eyesight, Allaya Lokka was an excellent sniper, considered by many experienced individuals in the Alliance Army to be the best they had ever seen. Her duties involved not only neutralizing enemies but also reconnaissance or defense. Lokka often had to remain in the same position for hours at a time, which she had no issue doing. Despite specializing in sniping, Lokka was a skilled fighter in close-quarters situations.

Equipment[]

Allaya Lokka's weapon of choice was the NT-242 sniper rifle, which was considered one of the most powerful of its type in the galaxy. The NT-242 had an effective range of one kilometer, although Lokka had killed people from around twice that distance with it during her career. It was also quite high-powered, with a shot from it effortlessly penetrating nearly all body armor and almost always resulting in the death of the hit individual. In case of a closer engagement, Allaya Lokka carried a Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster, which was compact and equipped with nine firing modes. Because Allaya Lokka was left-handed, her NT-242 was slightly modified for easier usage.

During her time in the Alliance to Restore the Republic and New Republic, Allaya Lokka wore a uniform typical of Rebel troopers, with no armor for increased mobility and usually camouflage for the environment combat would be taking place in. When she was a slave at Naffo the Hutt's palace, Allaya Lokka was forced to wear a dancing-girl costume made of bronzium, which revealed her limbs, stomach, and back. Lokka found this outfit to be physically uncomfortable because of the hard metal but also mentally due to a ton of scoundrels seeing almost her entire body.
