Alex Releka was a Jedi Master during the Clone Wars and a survivor of Order 66. He also served in the Galactic Empire as a member of the Imperial Navy and would later join the New Jedi Order after the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War.

Alex was born dirt poor in Coruscant's lower levels, specifically on the poverty-stricken Level 1650. During a supply shipment to Level 1650 that the Jedi undertook in 49 BBY, they discovered a powerful force signature which turned out to be Alex. Alex's parents happily handed him to the Jedi in the hopes that he would live a much better life on the surface with the Jedi. He was ridiculed by the other younglings due to his poor upbringing and early on he had very few friends. But, he would soon strike back against his bullies by outclassing all of them in lightsaber combat and was the first of his clan to pass the Initiate Trials and be chosen by a master, which he did in 41 BBY, and it was none other than the esteemed master Ki-Adi Mundi who would train him. Alex enjoyed his time as a Padawan as he explored the galaxy with Master Mundi, with the two notably stopping a band of pirates that were threatening shipping lanes in 40 BBY. Eventually in 35 BBY Alex passed the Trial of Knighthood and was promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight. Alex then took on his own apprentice, that being a young Givin Jedi named Oben Skurbek. Once the Clone Wars hit Alex participated in the Battle of Geonosis and was one of the few Jedi survivors of the battle. He commanded the 118th Attack Battalion into battles on worlds such as Draghar, Takodana, Scarif, and Jerevor. He would then reach the rank of Master in 22 BBY after Oben's own promotion to Jedi Knight. He survived Order 66 after he and Coleman Kcaj escaped the barren and rocky world of Xalavor and Alex hid on the distant Outer Rim world of Nalavor until his discovery by a young TIE Fighter pilot named Tek Greenley. Tek would ultimately recruit Alex into the Imperial Navy, which he served for some time. Eventually after the Empire's fall Luke Skywalker would find and recruit Alex for his New Jedi Order.
