The Aka'liit ("clan of war" in the Mandalorian language), also known as the Faithful, was a confederation of Mandalorian clans that worshipped Kad Harangir, a deity of a Mandalorian religion that, by the modern era, was largely phased out among most clans in favor of atheism or local folk religions. Their primarily goal was to reinstate the extinct religion and instigate another crusade into Republic space driven by their religious motives.

History[]

The Faithful were formed in around 800 BBY after several clans came together to wage war against the rising New Mandalorian subculture. After being defeated by a Jedi-led coalition of New Mandalorian and Republic forces in what came to be known as the Mandalorian Excision, the Faithful scattered across the Mandalore sector and established territories in remote and sparsely populated regions. After centuries of isolation and worship of an unpopular religion, the Faithful reemerged in around 250 BBY and, after coalescing a war fleet comprising ships acquired from crime syndicates, led a string of raids on New Mandalorian and Old Mandalorian settlements alike. They eventually faced a devastating defeat at the hands of the ancient Journeyman Protectors, and their fleet subsequently retreated to the outskirts of the Mandalore sector, where they carried out piracy on passing civilian merchants. Shortly after, they led a full-scale invasion of Ithull, leading to the extinction of the Ithullan species (a Human subspecies) and participated in multiple space battles with the Thyrsians to varying degrees of success. Eventually in around 70 BBY, infighting broke out among the Faithful and its clans went separate ways, some going to join the New Mandalorians, others going into hiding, others forming separate coalitions with their own interests in mind, and others being outright destroyed in the infighting. The Supercommando subculture was born out of this infighting, and some Faithful clans such as the Vizslas went on to form the infamous Death Watch. The Death Watch was considered to be the ideological successor to the Aka'liit.
