Agapos Takan was an admiral of the Galactic Republic who defected to the (Post-Great Hyperspace War), becoming one of the eleven Grand Admirals appointed by the Sith Emperor. A native of Alderaan, Takan joined the Republic Navy during the Great Galactic War and rose to the rank of captain. He commanded a vessel with strict standards for the crew, and developed them into one of the most efficient crews in the fleet. However, Takan became increasingly disillusioned with the Republic and its ways, even as he was promoted to admiral. So he decided to defect to the Empire. His crew had a high respect for their commander, and joined the defection. Takan was allowed to keep the rank of admiral in the Imperial armada.

Republic career[]
Agapos Takan was a Human male from Alderaan who joined the Republic Navy during the Great Galactic War. Rising to the rank of captain, he commanded a warship which was very successful in combat against Imperial privateers. Takan had strict standards for discipline and efficiency among his crew, and as a result he had one of the most combat ready ships in the fleet. However, as the war went on, Takan was forced to commit actions by the Galactic Republic that he did not like, such as help corrupt pro-Republic regimes and kill large numbers of civilians who were not willing to surrender. Taken grew angry and disillusioned with the Republic even as he was promoted to the rank of admiral. So, in 3,664 BBY, he defected to the Sith Empire, and his crew followed him as well, having the admiral in high respect. They surrendered themselves to a Grand Moff, telling him of their wish to serve the Empire, as Takan believed that it was actually trying to bring good to the galaxy, unlike the Republic. He was accepted and was given the rank of admiral in the Imperial Navy.
