The Advanced Recon Commandos, or ARC troopers, were an elite variant of Republic clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic. The rank of ARC trooper was also bestowed on clone troopers who completed specialized training or those who showed distinction on the battlefield.

An elite variant of clone troopers, Advanced Recon Commandos were widely regarded as the best soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic. During the Clone Wars, ARC troopers trained the first wave of clone officers, such as Clone Commanders CC-1322 "Trigg", CC-1211 "Dodge", and CC-7878 "Thorner".
