Knowledge is the greatest tool any Jedi, Sith, or person could have. With knowledge alone, you could save a galaxy or destroy it. It’s what you do with that knowledge that determines your fate.―Adena Qel-Droma[src]

Adena Qel-Droma was an Alderaanian-born Jedi Knight who went on to become Dark Lady of the Sith and Sith Empress during the Great Territorial War. She was born Adena Kheldrommas in the decades after the Force Wars, before becoming one of the first Jedi to fall to the dark side of the Force. Under the influence of an ancient Rakata device called the darksphere, she formed a dark cult in an attempt to gain power, but she was defeated and sentenced to be frozen in an eternal slumber.

Thousands of years later, in the aftermath of the Dark Wars, Adena was awoken by Matron Lirreka of the House Ebonclaw. Adena was known to the Ebonclaw as Plakla'uss and became one of Lirreka's trusted hands, serving as a High Admiral amongst the Ebonclaw forces. This earned her the reputation as the "Golden Huntress." After many years amongst the Ebonclaw, a once-again light Adena returned to the Jedi Order, taking on the surname Qel-Droma; Ulic Qel-Droma and his kin were descendants of her family.

Becoming a Jedi Master, Adena fought in the early days of the Great Territorial War, and rose to become a member of the Jedi High Council. During the war, she once again fell to the dark side, where she began manipulating the Sith from the shadows. At the same time, she used her position in the Jedi to advance the Sith cause, before finally seizing control of the Sith Empire and revealing herself as Empress Viea, ruler of the Sith. Under Viea's rule, the Sith spread across the galaxy, nearly destroying the Galactic Republic. It was only her redemption at the hands of Jedi Knight Ussej Padric Bac that ended Sith expansion, allowing the Republic to return to prominence.

Viea retreated into a private life after her redemption, taking on the name Amara Baatch in honor of her grandfather, the Je'daii explorer Calid Baatch. Despite her disappearance, her influenced lived on for millennia, well into the Third Galactic Civil War. During that conflict, a noetikon she created was discovered by Jedi Master Skhai Baatch, herself a descendent of Adena's; and Darth Vereor, the Dark Lord of the Sith.
