It is characteristic of Raixan Fauth that, under his influence, the contradiction between 'pirate' and 'soldier' has been obliterated.
—Bothan historian Hurd Les'ul
An accelerationist, referred to colloquailly and derogatorily as an accel, was a principled marauder, an individual who had embraced the philosophy of warlord Raixan Fauth and sought of their own volition to further his goals for the galaxy. They were distinct from the other privateers and criminals who operated without restraint during the Galactic Interregnum, dressing in distinctive armor that both evoked their profession and advanced upon it.
Variants[]
Though accelerationists often eschewed rank, their own particular roles and specialties lead to tentative classification being applied by their enemies.
Commando[]
The most talented of Fauth's followers expressed those skills by eschewing even the most basic organization of a group or squad; these "commandoes" functioned alone or directly served one of Fauth's bosom allies.
Heavy[]
Those accelerationists who had received frequent cybernetic upgrades possessed increased durability and offensive potential.
Medic[]
Doctors and other scientific minds occasionally pledged themselves to Fauth's cause, and often carried their equipment on top of the usual accelerationist panoply.
