-- 3,956 BBY - Weeks before Destruction of Taris --
Outer Rim Territories - Taris system - Endar Spire[]
The Hammerhead-class Republic cruiser the Endar Spire shook vigorously as Interceptor-class Sith fighters flew over; firing their laser cannons upon it. Alarms blared; Republic soldiers, officers and Jedi alike readied themselves for another attack. Elliah Rand, Republic lieutenant commander and corpsman was in her quarters writing in her datapad when the alarm went off; she immediately opened her footlocker and pulled out a pair of black boots, black pants and a black shirt with a gray vest―she got dressed; pulling the boots over her pants’ legs and threw the shirt and vest over her jumpsuit, she then knelt down and grabbed the blaster rifle from under her bunk, she ejected the ammo clip and looked at the charge; her eyebrows furrowed.
“Damn it, I’m running low, I need a new clip,” Slamming the clip back in, she stood up, “Only ten shots left, better make them count. When’s the last time I changed the clip, anyway?”
She brushed the thought aside and grabbed her pack and put her datapad inside, a few grenades and a small concealable knife.
She then pulled a small circular device from under her pillow; she pressed a read button on it and a holographic image of three Humans; a man, a woman and a little girl.
“Dad, I’ll see you soon,” She whispered. “If you’re still alive.”
Suddenly the ship shook again and an explosion blew a giant hole in Elliah's room door; Elliah grabbed her pack and the rifle, a small rectangular device and spoke into it as she made her way into the corridor outside her room.
“Onasi, you still alive?” She asked.
There were only sounds of blaster fire and metal scraping. “If you can hear this, meet me on the bridge… if you can.”
“A little pre-occupied at the moment, but I’ll meet you there.” He responded.
“See you then, soldier.” She said putting the communicator in her pocket.
She made her way down the hallways through a few Sith troopers and finally made it to the bridge’s door; before she could override the lock on the door, she heard blaster fire on the other side. Elliah raised her rifle and opened the door; as soon as a Sith trooper was in her sights she pulled the trigger; the trooper dropped to his knees and cried out in pain as the hole in his breastplate seared at his flesh underneath. Getting closer Elliah aimed higher, "Last one." She said as pulled the trigger again.
The blast destroyed the man's black visor and vaporized his face, leaving behind a charred smoking mess. By the time Elliah looked up from the smoking heap in front of her, she noticed she was being converged on.
The four-man squad aimed at her, knowing she was beat she threw down her empty rifle and put her hands up. "I'm afraid Lord Malak is only taking one prisoner and it's not you." The lead trooper squeezed his trigger but before he could pull it, a shot went off and he dropped to the floor.
A man with brown hair, beard and an orange jacket jumped opened fire on the rest of them.
