9DF-9998CP was the ninth planet in the DF-9998CP system on the eastern edge of the galaxy's Deep Core.
History[]
It was known that planets existed in the DF-9998CP system as early as 22,000 BBY, but it was not until 8,372 BBY that Skakoan researchers calculated a route to reach the system. Once they explored the system, they constructed labs on 9DF-9998CP and began their early attempts at breeding Klorreans. They were finally successful c. 8,000 BBY and began allowing the new subspecies to develop its own culture. However, as more and more Klorreans managed to escape into the wider galaxy, they began to fear that they could cause problems. In 7,013 BBY they altered the trajectory of a comet to strike the planet and all life on it was destroyed, although enoungh Klorreans existed offworld by this time that they failed to exterminate the species.
It was not until 117 ABY that the planet was given any attention again. An Oxoorian mining firm attempting to penetrate the Deep Core for its minerals set up a small colony on it and they began digging for resources. When the New Empire was set up, an Imperial overseer was appointed over the mines to make sure the ore went to Darth Krayt's forces. A skirmish was fought above the planet in 137 ABY to prevent minerals from being supplied to the New Empire. The world joined forces with the Galactic Federation Triumvirate in 138 ABY.
