- Rum Rebellion, following an attempt by the Union Senate to impose increased taxes on alcohol purchased by Union military members in an attempt to dissuade them from drinking "on the job", as has been the tradition in Earth's militaries for centuries, military members of the Union go out on mass strikes, some more extremist members launch a coup against the Union government, the coup is defeated, however the Union removes taxes on alcohol in order to quell the rebellion.
- Adinian Plague, a outbreak of Plague occurs in Adinia, the capital city of the small desert nation of the United Provinces of Adin and Morin, the Union of Earth States sends support, despite Adin-Morin not yet being a member, this decision helps sway Adin-Morin into joining the Union in 77 BBY.
