The 6th Marine Division was a division of the Republic Marines. During the first millennium of its existence, it consisted of the 16th, 17th, and 18th Marine Regiments. After the reorganization of the Marine Corps, its regiments were replaced by the 16th, 17th, and 18th Marine Battalions.
History[]
At the height of the Great Sith Wars, the division's 17th Regiment was heavily involved in defending Coruscant from a raid by Exar Kun's forces. During the Jedi Civil War four decades later, its 18th Battalion was so worn down by attrition in skirmishes with Darth Malak's Sith forces that they ceased to exist as an effective force for years to come.
Along with the rest of the Corps, the division was disbanded as a result of the Ruusan Reformation.
