The 615th Legion, was a Republic Legion of Clone Troopers, and later an Imperial Legion of Stormtroopers. During the Clone Wars the Legion found itself under the command of Clone Commander Thorner and Jedi General Pharos Gerne. The Legion was a subsidiary of the 22nd Pathfinder Corps.
History[]
The 615th Legion was formed during the Clone Wars as a Military Division of infantry Clone Troopers—human clones grown from the genetic source material of Jango Fett—that served the Galactic Republic in its final years. Serving as both a Reconnaissance, Ground Recovery and Reinforcement battalion of Jedi General Pharos Gerne. The 615th's first recorded service was during the First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY. Following the Republic's victory on Geonosis, the 615th was deployed to various battlefronts across the galaxy as part of the newly-formed Grand Army of the Republic. Since then, the Legion had served in numerous campaigns along the Galactic Front, finding most of their action in the Outer-Rim alongside numerous other Military Divisions.
The Legion's intended Commander was Jedi Master Kyr-Typh, alongside his former Padawan Pharos Gerne, who had only recently become a Master himself by the time of the Clone Wars. During the Battle of Ryloth, Kyr-Typh was sadly killed whilst assisting fellow Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di's initial Battlegroup alongside the Outer Rim Garrison and 11th Assault Platoon, and as such; command of the Legion fell to General Pharos, and his late Padawan Rileus Zol.
With the loss of their Initial Commander during the Battle of Ryloth; the role of Clone Commander within the Legion fell to CC-7878, who would command the Legion until the Third Battle of Mygeeto.
Following Order Sixty-Six, command of the Legion fell to CT-1653 for some time before his eventual decommission.
In the Reign of the Empire, the 615th would find renewed purpose in becoming an Occupational Force for worlds who struggled alongside Imperial rule, recruiting Stormtroopers into it's ranks as early as was possible. One of the Legion's first operations in this era was to be an occupational force on Rodia.
Following the fracturing of the Empire, what remained of the Legion fell under the jurisdiction of Commandant Brendol Hux.
