The 52nd Republic Fighter Wing was an elite group of clone trooper pilots in the Grand Army of the Republic. They were among the few non-Jedi pilots to frequently use Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptors during the Clone Wars. They could also fly any starfighter or light bomber in use by the Republic, including V-19 Torrents, Alpha-3 "V-wing" starfighters, ARC-170s, and NTB-630 naval bombers.
At least part of the 52nd Wing participated in the Battle of Leziquk, where they took heavy losses, as did all the Republic forces in the disastrous defense attempt. It is unknown if the survivors were reassigned or if the 52nd was restored, but the roots of a few elite Imperial fighter groups can be partially traced to the Wing, including the 128th TIE Interceptor Squadron.
