The 4th Massassi Cohort was a cohort of Massassi warriors serving the Golden Empire in the Royal Army. The 4th was one of the original Massassi Cohorts organized for the Great Liberation and fought at the Battle of Tizgo V. It continued to serve in many of the Empire's campaigns, including the Ssi-ruuvi Incursion and the Nightmare War, where it fought in the Defense of Rykar.
The 4th was one of two Massassi Cohorts, along with the 17th, assigned to the command of the Chiss Legate Vos'elk'eetash during the First Stratos Contention.
