The 419th SpecOp Patrol Unit, or simply the 419th, were an elite unit of clone troopers that served the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.
This army division was led by CC-5642, Borg, and remained throughout the Galactic Civil War. The usual missions they were assigned were usually siege missions, and more than often search-and-rescue. These missions are what they specialized in.
The planets they were assigned to varied from the Galactic Center to beyond to far in the Outer Rim. They were one of the most versatile units in the Republic Army.
History[]
The 419th SpecOp Patrol unit was formed months after the Battle of Geonosis. It was then when they were under a different commander than Borg. A year after, when this commander died, Borg got promoted to commander and proceeded to lead the unit.
Throughout the rest of the Clone Wars, the 419th had taken some of the most difficult of missions for clone troopers. Each one they succeeded. Often these missions were directly by Chancellor Palpatine. In the days before Order 66 was issued, the had suffered the most difficult mission they had yet, on the planet Vanderyne.
The Jedi they were instructed to kill during Order 66 had barely escaped. However, the 419th though he they had killed him, and waited for the next assignment.
Soon became stormtroopers, and lost the armor that differed them from other clone troopers. They still remained an elite division of stormtroopers until the end of the Galactic Civil War.
Characteristics[]
The 419th SpecOp Patrol Unit had standard white armor with bright green pauldrons, elbow plates, chest lining, knee plates, and plates on their boots, the standard color of the unit. They were also easily distinguished by their unique unit insignia. The scouts of the unit had speeder bikes with green armor plating. The pilot and marine armor was completely green, and therefore easily distinguished the pilots from the troopers.
Behind the Scenes[]
The 419th were originally going to be a space unit, an idea that was soon rejected.
