The 408th Imperial Fighter Wing was a unit of the Imperial Navy that was part of the Ryndellian Sector Fleet during the Galactic Civil War. Commanded by Colonel Yarnar, it was based on the Compellor, and Executor-class Star Dreadnought. Its pilots included Major Civ Darklancer, an ace TIE/In interceptor pilot who was awarded the title-rank Tan by Emperor Palpatine. When the Galactic Empire splintered following the Battle of Endor, the 408th became loyal to the faction of Moff Petro Verkoris, which was led by the League of Moffs. Its pilots participated in defending the League's sectors during the New Republic offensive, but were ultimately overwhelmed and defeated.
