• Miguel Terrajo of the Leasath Democratic Party is first elected as the Head of State of Democratic Republic of Leasath, he is elected again in 23 BBY, but is overthrown and executed during a nationalist uprising.
• The Toripape Affair: Three prominent members of the Toripape, a native tribe of the Western Colonies of the Zarkan Kingdom, known simply as "The Triad", plot to assassinate Queen Jane Zarkan I for her fervent pro-Colonial attitude.
• Toripape Affair: Colonial authorities learn of the conspiracy to assassinate Queen Jane by Toripapian informants.
• Toripape Affair: Jane Zarkan, enraged at how natives would plot to assassinate her, has 1000 members of the Toripape taken hostage as leverage to get the Toripape to give up the conspirators.
• Toripape Affair: Within the final hour prior to the execution of the hostages the Triad gives themselves up to the authorities, Jane Zarkan has them publicly executed in front of the hostages as a demonstration, despite the Union of Earth States calling on the Zarkan Kingdom to release the hostages and grant the conspirators clemency, both of which are angrily ignored by the Zarkan Kingdom.
• Toripape Affair: The hostages are released following the executions, who are then forced to sign a document stating that they shall remain completely loyal to the Kingdom and Empire of Jane Zarkan and her successors for an eternity.
• Toripape Affair: Jane Zarkan lambastes the Union of Earth States for supporting anti-Imperial conspirators who desired her death, a surge in anti-Union sentiment amongst Zarkanians occurs.
