The 15th Marine Battalion was a battalion within the 5th Marine Division of the Republic Marines that was first formed as an independent unit in 3,987 BBY during the Marine Corps' reorganization in the wake of the Great Sith War.
History[]
During the Ruusan Campaign, which was the high-water mark of the New Sith Wars, most of the 15th Battalion, along with the 27th Battalion and a company of Force Recon troopers, provided the Jedi Army of Light with peripheral tactical support and battlefield intelligence. They also helped to keep supply lines to Ruusan open, allowing Lord Hoth to concentrate on dealing with Lord Kaan's Sith Brotherhood of Darkness.
After the war's resolution and the adoption of the Ruusan Reformation, the unit was dissolved along with the rest of the Corps.
