- Great Warehouse Fire of Zarkan City: A spark from a faulty light ignites a wooden warehouse located in Zarkan City's industrial district containing volatile compounds. The fire quickly spreads across much of the rest of the district due to high winds. Eventually, a huge explosion occurs as unstable chemicals stored in a nearby warehouse ignite, the explosion is heard as far away as the town of Perote. Buildings within a mile of the explosion are levelled, with windows being shattered a mile further than that.
- King Bartholomew Zarkan VII of the Zarkan Kingdom and West Sea Empire dies at the age of 94. He is succeeded by his son, Eric Zarkan III.
